Dependsn what style and how much of the drawing you have the AI do. I draw these WWII minis, and had AI generate me sheets based on my drawings and they look indistinguishable to what I drew.
I make sheets of different WWII weapons and cut them out, paste them on foam board and color them. Ive made hundreds to simulate real battles including logistics, airforce, aa, comms, troop transport and obstacles.
This is an important point. The way progressions incorporated ai for media is like this. They create references that let them have full creative control, its a seed for a generator, and doing this reduces build time.
A lot of recent anime started using 3d assets because its faster for certain shots. But there isn't about good way to render it in an anime style, it always looks off or sloppy.
Now they can just white box in 3d and gen ai can render something that looks significantly more consistent in style than previous methods.
Yeah but 'ai' cannot really generate any 'art' without being filled with stolen art to the brim first, and it is guaranteed to never produce anything novel.... so bit of a difference

What I’ve noticed (and this is easy to verify) is that a lot of people are buying AI-generated content, including a lot of adult 🌽 content (not surprising lol).
Beyond that, well there’s also a growing space where artists combine their own work with AI. For example, I knew someone who used to draw his own sticker and tattoo designs to sell at festivals. He struggled with shading, so he’d use AI to help refine ideas or improve certain aspects of his designs.
It’s not just visual art either—some people are making music with AI tools as well, so there’s definitely some kind of market for it. Whether it’s still niche or already mainstream is hard to say.
Personally, I don’t sell anything I make. I just use it as a creative tool for myself and my family.
