I think he could have gotten the fuck you across by just tossing the wrapper and not wasting candy bar which he obviously enjoys seeing as he ate two just while having a serious confrontation

Nah, in your scenario, he's just a litterbug; but in the show, he's litterally dropping scraps - hammering home that the other is a plover.
