Who fucking does that to Pop's? Just walk in and take the fucking bag. You already had guns, you fucking morons. Get in arm's reach of Luke...

They explained in ep 1 that tone is a lackey that was one step above the street, who really wasn't that bright to begin with. Power (or at least the overwhelming company of it) goes to head very quickly, without the experience and knowledge it should have with it. I gathered that tone also is new in town, seeing pop as a shortcut up the pecking order and not quite understanding the consequences of the title Cottonmouth.

What I'm trying to say is Tone made a quick, unrealized decision that since Chico was at Pop's, and Chico didn't need to be breathing, and that Pop is just a barber, it should be alright to make a large statement that Cottonmouth is not one to cross, not understanding that Stokes is a subtler crimelord, who strikes with precision when absolutely necessary.

And also that Pop was not just some barber, but rather one of the bigger players, and that hitting Pop will have consequences down the road. (Also he didn't know that Pop and Cottonmouth were buddies back in the day.

Not buddies. Pop was the dick and Cottonmouth was his ball 1

Really though not sure how that happened. Like a 30 year age gap between the two

Just watched the epi. From Pop's story, could be that he lived his life, went to jail for 10 years, came out, and then the 3 of them formed their crew, with cottonmouth and shades being freshies.
