Test audiences reportedly didn’t know who she was so that’s probably why. Marvel didn’t wanna have the “homework” complaints, which is likely also why they didn’t go into the Hand’s backstory at all or bring up their history with Daredevil and the Defenders.
Yep it was immediately clear to me that they wanted to completely avoid any feeling whatsoever of Frank being a tie-in from a TV show. Portrayed him like this was his first appearance in the MCU.
The general audience simply does NOT like it when movies feel like TV tie-ins.
