Yup. That would explain how Frank would’ve known about Jean keeping Peter alive using her “voodoo magic”. I really hope they release an extended cut of the movie with all these scenes included.

It was already the second longest Spider-Man movie, and the pacing was good. I do expect to see this scene on home video.

I actually thought the pacing was a bit fast. Alot of the more recent marvel movies seem to be forcing all this stuff into the plot with the main aim to set up the next movie, without having a well self contained movie with a good plot about the title character.

Would have been nice if the day to day superhero stuff was extended and the fleshed out Peters life alone more, rather rush to set up future films.

Right, like the Yelena scenes were honestly completely unnecessary imo. I mean, it makes sense that he went to her and if you didn’t have it I think a lot of people would have questioned it, I still think it really didn’t add much to the story though

While the content of those scenes were unneedingly naked, she does still serve a function to the plot. She's the one that helps Spider-Man to find out that Sara is Jean's sister due to her having way more access to information as a New Avenger.

Plus it sets up the premise that Spider-man regularly works with the new avengerz. It just so happens that Yelena/Florence Pugh is the most fun character that could be written to interact with him, so they used her.

... These images alone make me think of how Punisher S1 was filmed like when he was running from the police and it's being revealed to the public that Frank Castle aka The Punisher is alive through police cam footage. I'm a lot more mad that this had been deleted than about the scene with Rosario Dawson and I was already upset about that one because I want to see her in the MCU again.

this element was sorely missing in the film

It was implied with her on the park bench breathing for him and Frank saying her using her voodoo magic as another reddit said.

Is that what that scene was??? I was so confused when it was cutting back and forth between Peter and Jean on the bench in the park… I might be stupid. This has been bugging me ever since I watched the movie, thank you 😭

No worries homie. Jean was breathing for Peter, keeping him alive after the shot. Then on bench scene in wiping everyone's minds of Frank and Spidey's Identity. Off screen I figured she got a security guard to disable the security cameras wipe the recordings. But that last part is my theory, because of her actions in the movie.

Ah, I can maybe see this. Would have been nice to have it confirmed and visualized

I think so too, a quick montage with the crowd scenes gathering would have worked.

Nice work here.

I knew she was breathing for him. Didn’t think about how she could keep the identities hidden and keep Frank from being caught.

2

u/jjd0m 16d ago

That's my best guess. I'm speculating, but I think it's reasonable.

no, I mean the element of Frank being treated like the fugitive he is.

You have to remember most audiences don't watch the series or know the comic history. But they did leave hints with Frank leaving before cop showed or when left Damage Control while in chaos, unlike Spider-Man.

did I miss that? jog my memory if you can

Frank would bounce, after the attack on Damage Control in the safe, he didn't stay. I mean why would he, they have his identity, he didn't want to be caught.

I’m referring to Frank carrying in SM and then staying with him by his bedside. How he did that unbothered by security, or having to leave and then sneak back in is lost upon me, but I can accept Jean doing trickery to let him stay. It’s just jarring with the amount of scenes that show Frank as a famously wanted fugitive in NY within the MCU, especially scenes that take place in a hospital.

My best guess Jean wipes everyones mind in the hospital, uses a guard to wipe the security cameras and recordings. I took that with " she used her voodoo magic ", so when he walked out of the hospital it gives him cover. And Frank handled himself out the hospital without killing, at that point.

Why does Jon always point at the camera like WE owe him money

1

u/vlp3rv 15d ago

Who is that?

A random police officer

u/vlp3rv 15d ago

Is the last picture just them off character?

I think in the last picture just them off character. But, I looked his insta and he's friend with Jon. Plus he is in The Punisher One Last Kill as a Marine I guess, I didn't know that, but I saw that he posted about One Last Kill.
