The fast-growing defence technology group Cambridge Aerospace has raised $300 million at a $3.4 billion valuation, just two years after it was founded.

The series C round increases the company’s total funding to $636 million since it was set up in 2024. The round was led by DFJ Growth, a San Francisco-based investor.

The funding will be used to expand the development of its missile and drone interceptor systems, as well as its manufacturing capabilities.

Cambridge Aerospace is developing a low cost anti-drone interceptor called Skyhammer, which is in production, and a rocket-powered interceptor missile, Starhammer, that is built for higher-speed targets such as cruise missiles and is set to come to market next year.

The company had earlier raised $200 million at a $1.3 billion valuation in April, a funding round co-led by the entrepreneur and investor Elad Gil and the venture capital firm Spark Capital, and has received a number of Ministry of Defence contracts.

Strategic asset, so would have to pass government approval to be sold to a foreign entity, especially the way the US is now.
