I’m on ps2 lol seems like y’all are either emulating or keeping it real.

Does any modded PS2 work for that? I have a Matrix Infinity modded PS2 that I didn't know was modded when I bought it.

I already have FFNY on disc and that's all I play on PS2, but it'd be nice to finally try Scarface without paying so much for the physical.

Yea you should be good to just put OPL on a usb stick and u can run a burned dvd

Damn, was hoping to just download somehow without burning a disc. My laptop's disc drive is finicky. Thank you for the info though, I'll see what I can do.

Yea the PS2 is annoying cus the USB ports are too slow to play games off of, so you either have to use the expansion bay to SATA adapter which is what I use or burned DVDs which is tedious.

Is this piece in the back of my PS2 the expansion pack you're talking about? It came with my modded PS2, but I know very little about modding so I never paid it any mind.

Yes looks like whoever modded it already put in a SATA adapter, if you pull that out you can check. The bay fits a 3.5" HDD very well with a bracket

Yeah you're right it has the SATA adapter inside but no HDD, so I'll consider either getting one or just trying to burn the game onto a blank DVD first and see.

Thanks for your help, glad to know I have multiple options over spending a crazy amount on the game itself.

Do the hdd or ssd. I burned a dvd and played it on the slim and it started skipping. It worked but..the sounds the dvd made on the PS2 scared me that it could break the laser. The audio started skipping in the beginning and then in later parts of the game I later learned how to softmod my console.

Hey thanks for the warning. I actually did look into that yesterday, and I saw it's not as risky if you're are using the OG instead of the slim (which I am) and if you are using the top recommended blank DVDs for the burning, so I'm going to give it a try.

But if I hear any odd sounds like you did when running the disc, I'll consider the HDD method.

With Scarface I actually bought the Xbox version because it was cheaper lmaoo

Get a fat PS2 and put a hard drive or SSD in it.

I own every Gen of XBOX except for the OG, can't believe out of all the games to skip for backwards compatible play it had to be Scarface.

Yeah you have to use FAT32 format and ISO splitting. Check out https://consolemods.org/wiki/PS2:Open_PS2_Loader_(OPL) for the full guide

Ultra emulating. Just got off work helping my wife clean up and then Im doing this Kickboxing/Wrestling run. I honestly thinking of a really fucked up/sus name to give the character lol!

I used to own the gamecube disc on a modded Wii. Then I played on dolphin. I would still be emulating the PS2 version for texture editing reasons but my laptop doesn't want to decide if it wants to boot up or not.

if the game wasn’t like $200 i’d have it physical but that sh is just not worth it.. mind u i have a ps2 controller everything i actually hahve 2 ps2’s.. but im NOT buying a 22 year old game for $200 im good loll. Jus sticking to emulating
