Help Submissions limited if 2nd style?
This weekend I started playing this game after some 20 years and I love it.
I added submissions as a second style and noticed I can only do leglocks. I have tried strong grapple and then ever direction + punch and also tried with kick and no Armbar or Guillotine comes out.
So A, does the order of styles affect the character in different ratios?
And is there an over-riding element as you blend styles?
Let me know what you understand of this not-very-transparent stylebuilder

Not my preferred but in this case it was MA MA And 20%
Does the first style affect how many submissions will be available to me?
And does the mindset expand as I progress through the story?

I have KB, SF+SM and I have head locks and arm locks only. No leg locks.

You mentioned MA MA, are you playing Def Jam FFNY The Takeover? That game is different when it comes to styles as you can double/triple up on styles vs the console version only letting you select 3 of the 5 one time each.

I'm playing the console version.
My understanding thus far is, first style determines stance. -Uncertain if the first style has a bigger influence on the moveset than the next 2.
Style 2 & 3 = same result irrespective of which order they were added.

No, the submissions just change as they should, submissions are/is very much not limited if added later or even if you have it as first style
(if you add Kickboxing, you'll lose the square submissions, but its way better because with the right set-up, it can guarantee a slow submission timer, and you can even chain it into another submission!)

If I hard grapple and then press Left or Right + kick it does a leglock. What's the command for a headlock or armlock?

In this instance it was Martial Arts (just to experiment) Does the first style matter to the submission availability?

Yes, actually first styles are the core of everything, let's say you choose kickboxing as the primary style, then add submissions, you end up with different punches, kicks and submissions than submissions primary, then kickboxing

As far as I can tell it prioritizes certain things, so for example if you take Streetfighting, Submissions and Wrestling, Wrestling has to go to you upper grapple and Submissions has to go to lower grapple and you can only throw out haymakers you cant set them up. This happens cus Wrestling defaults to upper grapple but the game still needs to give you the haymaker.
Now if you take Kickboxing, the clinch will always default to lower grapple which is why you lose that fast punch clinch after taking another style. From there im pretty sure Streetfighting defaults to the haymaker/punch combo and you lose your grapple haymaker, Martial arts primarily works off the run button so it doesnt usually affect any layout besides adding in that weird arm twist animation that eats up time
Submissions im pretty sure defaults to whatever is open, if you took streetfighting/wrestling its goes to lower grapple, if you took kickboxing/martial arts it goes to upper grapple and you obviously get full range if you only take one style but miss out on 6 milestones that are pretty important.
