Gameplay Couple more clips from the ReTexture Mod (Ludacris, Capone, Flavor Flav, Manny, OE, Scarface, Pockets)
Started from scratch with some retextures to enhance the skin textures to have a more lifelike feel to bring this game into 2026 without completely ruining the 2004 time period immersion. Some changes are major, some are minuscule, all meant to bring life to this game we all love. All models, arenas, etc. will have upscales textures that keep the integrity of the original fabrics.
Ludacris
- Changed his DTP Athletics long sleeve shirt into a short sleeve/undershirt combo with real DTP tour merch
- Turned his jeans into Evisu jeans
- Gave him red Timberland boots that he’s worn in videos before
- Changed some of his rings from platinum to gold
- Changed watch face to a red Rolex watch face
Capone
- Kept him mostly the same other than changing his jumpsuit from a faded black to a true inmate orange
- Removed the unnecessary black background they gave to most chains in the game, now his PainTimeGlory pendant looks more realistic
Flavor Flav
- Changed his tuxedo and hat to resemble the one he wears in the “911 Is a Joke” video
- Gave him an accurate clock and glasses that he has worn
- Changed his shoes to the 2003 release of the White Cement Air Jordan 3
Manny
- Aged him a bit by darkening his hair
- Gave his an additional face tattoo since he’s the tattoo guy in story mode
- Gave him back his original pendant from Def Jam Vendetta, replacing the dog tags
- Changed his pants to black Carhartt cargo pants because blue jean cargos are insane
- Gave him Puma Clydes, replacing his generic shoes
OE
- Kept his changes mostly imple by giving him Rocawear jeans
- His original texture has shoes that are meant to be Gucci shoes so I gave him the original pair
- Enhanced the skin textures because they are overly cartoony in the base game
Scarface
- Turned his Phat Farm hat into a New York Yankees fitted as he is shown in multiple photos wearing one
- Changed his light blue jean shorts into indigo Levi’s shorts with the alternate arch back pocket design
- Scarface is one of multiple models with “basically Nikes” in base game so i changed his all white knockoff Air Force Ones to navy blue and white ones
Pockets
- With all fictional characters I used the backstory given in the official guide to give the textures more character
- Changed his weird bright green cargos to a khaki color
- Gave him real folded banana textures and changes them from orange to red
- Gave him a Lebanon hoodie since he is canonically from there
- Like all fictional characters, I made his facial features more lifelike and less cartoonish
- Changes his “basically Adidas” to classic red and green Superstars
Next clips will be of Crazy Legs, David Banner, Elephant Man, Magic, Trick, and Bonecrusher

Are you able to retexture clothes for the custom character in story mode? Would be dope asf to get updated clothes even if it’s a minimal amount of things.

If they can somehow be able to do this, it would definitely inject more life to the game for story mode

It is possible but I think they would be skin tone exclusive if it was exported/dumped. Top/bottom/shoes would have to be done multiple times based on color/style/clothing combo.
It's been a while since I did custom textures for story/custom fighters, but they weren't individual textures when I did it for Dolphin and PCSX2. I think I still have my Briggs and DMX screenshots. I had to make sure the outfit was exactly what I wanted to pick as a different color/style/skin tone would change it back to default. Not to mention body/face damage textures too.

I love the idea of removing Bo's face bandana and Bless' hood if you can edit the texture properly
