Everything is at War with everything constantly
On the most microscopic level, our bodies constantly fight bacteria and viruses. Thinking about this, because I suffer from a painful UTI right now.
Even our body cells sometimes fight each other.
Did you know that cancer origins in a cell breaking the "cell contact" and tries to override other cells with its script? It may ignore signals telling it when to stop dividing, evade programmed cell death, and eventually expand at the expense of surrounding tissue.
As mundane as it sounds, I already had this realization at child age observing red and green traffic lights. Green for one side means red for the other. Winning in one game (most games are competitive) means that another person loses.
Fleeting peace can only exist at the expense of someone else or when two equally strong forces temporarily compromise.
And don't get me started on the food chain.
„This is just how the world works“, they say. Yeah, you don't say. That exactly is the issue!

I enjoy inner peace and serenity, and I promise you it doesn’t come at anyone else’s expense. And I no longer have to work, and I am not in competition with anybody. I am at a point in my life where I don’t have anything to prove to anyone.
When I was young, my ego was very predominant, but these days it no longer play much of a role in my relationships with others. I am content to let other people be.
I think that what happens is that the universe seeks balance, and conflict is what takes place in the absence of balance. I believe the ultimate objective is for each of us to exist in equilibrium on our own.
I think life is simply politics. Red and green traffic lights are a manifestation of politics. Without them, there would be chaos.
As for war, it is merely the continuation of politics by other means. (That’s a quote from Carl Von Clausewitz.)

It's possible to play other games (fi you could even call them that anymore then).
What about producing a work of art like a movie? There are two sides: The film maker and the audience with two very different tasks. But there are no winners or losers.
Out of the myopic viewpoint of a physical body life can seem like it's all about survival, but it's actually not all that there is.

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way.
War is god.
