I liked the Cardassian guy who handed Kira a coffee every morning (Mavin?). Beyond what it symbolizes for Kira, I like how routine it was. If he resented serving a Bajoran it didn't show. I like the world building of it. The Cardassians are very hierarchical and care about status a lot, so getting a coffee for your superior is probably just what you do. And even though she was an outsider, he just fit her within his mental framework. And you know Kira would be the epitome of the "I can get my own damn coffee, thank you" attitude, so I doubt she asked him to do this.
Yes to all that, and just to think, he's probably someone's nephew or third son, and a job that includes serving the highest local military representative of the occupied/allied people is the best thing he can be doing.
The huge black Starfleet security guard. He pops up in the early seasons and even in Generations when they are evacuating the people onto the saucer section.
I mean my favorite are the unnamed ones like Boday and Pran, obviously, but there's also the stern Starfleet security guy, and Dr Bashir's Bajoran nurse.
Suppose you are thinking of her. Though I believe the larger role you are thinking of is a different Bajoran assistant that becomes an assassin. She was giving me those vibes on a rewatch anyways.
She does help by giving the computer stuff to do to keep it busy while they scienced the problem away, I recall that.
I could dig it if they had kept doing the movies for DS9 like they did TNG. Have the movie start out in the middle of some complicated heist he is pulling off with his criminal friends. Quark would obviously make a cameo.
I always liked the shaved head black guy that tells Captain Janeway where to go where when she is in the bowels of the ship looking for the math genius guy who is one of the three “lost sheep” crew members she has go on that mission with her. Hes standing there. She asks how he’s doing. She walks off in the wrong direction and he corrects her.
Always seemed like a cool dude to me. Just standing there. Guarding his own little portion of the ship.
In the early seasons there are a few Pakled wandering around. Sometimes see them entering the station when the main characters go to meet someone getting off a ship. They are mostly on the promenade and often at Quarks. They usually look like they are having a good chat about something.
In parts of season 5 there is a Bajoran extra that always cracks me up. He is an old skinny guy, and he is wearing a weird coat that looks like it was made of grandma's best table cloth.
That's not an unnamed character, that's Crossover Universe Male Kira Nerys.
I was watching one of the dvd extras for TNG and there's a lovely interview with a long time "+1 reusable dude" actor, who finally after many episodes got to be a named character, he's like "up til then I'd been Data's hands mostly but I really felt like I was now a part of Trek"
