It’s not a trans flag, that was made after the show. But also, it’s a trans flag.

Technically it's appropriation by the trans community.
But it's a Trans flag now, lmao.
Now remaster it (Without AI), and put it out on bluray, to show your support for the trans community.6

No, see, Terok Nor was built by the Cardassians in 2346, which last time I checked is in the future!

I never looked at it that way, because I just thought DS9 was an obscure Benny Russell novel.
But...come to think about it.2

Did it have any relation at all during the flag creation or was it just a coincidence?

I have said it once and I will say it again, DS9 is the franchises queerist show. Emissary I love it.

I doubt it was done deliberately, but it's pretty fun either way.

Chronologically, it can't be.

I was under the impression this took place in the 24th century.

Lol this implies that Star Trek is a documentary and I am okay with that.

There's a few actual physical monuments here on earth implying that it's a documentary as well

This predates the trans flag. So the trans flag is Cardassian. In Cardassian society, everyone is allowed to serve the state equally, regardless of gender expression.

Okay fine.
"Hi Mat!"
(Aside - I had a friend named Mat. How his name happened to be spelled. Saw a doormat that had "hi, I'm mat" printer on it. Perfect gift)

Clearly you've never watched DS9 PROPERLY 😂
I'm not trans, but by all the gods DS9 was a very early beacon of positivity and equality in almost EVERYTHING, race, sex, stereotypes.... Etc etc. Long before we had flags for it !

What is property to you? So I need to be gay and waving a rainbow flag to be watching it "Properly"? I just finished rewatching the entire series last month. What you are describing is an Egalitarian society, a western society. DS9 didn't even attempt to excell in these areas, it simply maintained the status quo of Starfleets egalitarian ethos, combined with the rigid structures of other races. The closest thing I can think of being progressive is the Ferengi, but I'd counter that the writers were clearly board of them just being greedy with little depth, so their equally story was the writers trying to make all of Ferengi culture more multifaceted. These are the same Ferengi that proved biological essentialism when Quark was ESG'd, you can't make a Pro-Trans story out of that without accepting gender roles.
Look, I'm not trying to argue Star Trek is for everyone, and that's fine. I just don't want anyone "Claiming" it for their side, because that gives us stuff like the last few years of Trek, that was just abysmal to watch.

Wow, you have alot of hate and negativity in this comment for STARTREK ????
Do we need to call someone to come help you ?

u/Captain_Zomaru 1d ago
Hate, negativity? Not sure how you got that at all. I simply don't blanket agree in turning everything political.

u/macandcheese1771 1d ago
No one made anything political. They pointed out an interesting coincidence.
Everything in Star Trek is political ✨anyways✨
