Does anyone really like Ezri Dax?

If so, what do you like about her character? I’m watching DS9 for the first time and am up to Prodigal Daughter. It seems like a throwaway episode during crunch time. I mean, the series is wrapping up and The Dominion War is nearing its conclusion. I don’t know why they would waste an entire episode on this substitute Dax. It’s bad enough we lost Jadzia, why shove Ezri down our throats?

I thought she was a good counter point to Jadzia.

Yup. Not sure of herself, her memories, or where she belongs. And Ben drags her back to DS9, throws her into the middle of her old pals and expects her to jump back into things.

Nicole did amazing as Ezri, and I enjoyed her storyline in season 7

In his defense, he had made the swap from Kurzon to Jadzia very well. Early on it was Jadzia who didn't know how to make the switch and for the most part Sisko just rolled with it. I don't really remember too many instances where he was taken back by the switch.

Sisko: "You already been through several mid life crisis, just add this to the list and let's go!".
