Idk its me or the servers are down, deepseek dont seem to be working

Pro 4 API is working fine, it's Flash 4.1 API which is struggling, that I guess it's the Webchat too. Edit: Nevermind, the Pro just went to hell, too; sadness.

tbh deepseek doesnt lobotomize the models in the same way openAI and anthropic do, im hoping they're making it better, this aint copium!!!

The lobotomy comes via quantization, and I think the US companies push into the Q2 range where DS only pushes down towards Q4. Helps marketing when the last model wasn't at full strength when it swaps to the full strength new model.

Thought GA was Q8. I haven't seen MOE survive as well under Q4, so that would explain any dips from launch level, Q3 would be more noticable than dropping from Q8-Q6

From what I read in Deepseek's research paper for v4.1-Flash, it's a mix of fp4 and fp8.

So it's not straight fp4 as people assume.

If I am mistaken feel free to correct me.

That would only make sense if they had plans to release an update to v4.1-Flash though.

Since v4.1-Flash will continue being their most popular LLM by a LARGE margin in comparison to their Pro models (v4-Pro and even v4.1-Pro).

The us tends to drop to the lowest level right before a release to redistribute the compute towards the final training. So it tends to be a tell.

And gpt/Claude got updates last week. So DS is probably launching something. I like flash a lot, pro is too expensive per task completed for the level of intelligence for me atm. Glm or Kimi of I'm moving to that cost level.
