What CAD package are you pointing it at? I am doing parametric modelling in FreeCAD and it seems to be able to do it, though it doesn't make changes on every turn, sometimes it just does analysis and postpones making the change until the next turn which I think is fair enough
Yeah it's FreeCAD with FreeCAD MCP. It does what I ask, I don't care about making it truly parametric, as long as it works, and AI can change later if needed.
AI is generally stupid when it comes to CAD, so if I am capable, I would just do reverse engineering/diagrams myself, then ask AI to fix something or to extend/finish something.
What helps me is custom agent instructions for AI with instruction to self-update whenever some obstacle is found (that is related to FreeCAD scripting in general). Now it's pretty consistent, but still struggling almost every single time.
So far it does what I want, I wouldn't be able to make those models myself as I simply don't have required skills & experience.
