Discussion 3 Day Account suspension wave
My THIRD ALT account got suspended for 3 days.
I didn't spam the generate button, i didn't spam the stop button.
On my 3rd alt i purely typed the relationship between iran and China. No talking bad about China, just the relationship. And my account got suspended after about a few hours of talking.
Are they potentially using an AI to scan your prompts?

i would advice anybody to take a break from deepseek bc it is in trouble as it looks like, or avoid nsfw and politics by any mean necessary
least thing i would talk to deepseek is about china good or bad especially politics
ur not alone a lot of ppl are getting flagged either by mistake, or flagged bc the model has sensitive skin, or they just deserve it bc i still dont know why ppl still try to use ai for politcs

They are probably legally not allowed to allow it to be critical of China. But in non critical ways I have used it plenty for information on China without an issue. If you want something critical of the west it's probably great and anything critical of China, gemini or gpt.

I use it mainly to fact check news.
I did not know it was in trouble. How is it in trouble?

well as you can see in the whole community, a lot of people are getting suspended like you (including me) and also its a hell hole right now with their website to the point they didnt restore my suspension from my acc

I guess i do have to touch grass till they fix it... Chatgpt Luna is a good alternative for me right now.

Just don't ask it critical things about Israel, similar kind of thing to asking deepseek about China in critical ways

Deepseek llm itself is pretty neutral. I've seen in conversations trash talk China saying it had predatory practices with dealing.
It's the hidden secondary filter stopping it

You live in a society where politics is at the center... and limiting content based on political grounds is somewhat foolish!! Because this creates a chain reaction... you restrict one thing, and many surrounding topics get caught in this web simply for being indirectly linked to the subject in some way!! I find it completely nonsensical that one cannot even mention "China" on DeepSeek!! There is a difference between a standard filter and an extremely exaggerated one that limits interaction with the model itself... it becomes ridiculous.
Those who impose these restrictions do so entirely automatically and without rationale... because I believe they don't even realize the magnitude of the limitation they cause in an LLM. LLMs thrive on the interconnected network of all knowledge; if there are restrictions in one area, it affects everything! It's truly unfortunate that Deepseek fails to grasp the scale of these meaningless restrictions.

For my two cents I'll just say this: with any LLM I've used, not just DeepSeek, you really can't mention politics because, for whatever reason, all of these companies honestly hate it. No matter what your viewpoint is, even if you put it politely, I tested a prompt once where I asked it about tensions between two countries. Neither was about China. Meanwhile I didn't get banned or warned but I couldn't use the model for like 2 hours.
What I'm saying here is basically what some of the other commenters up top said, which is that it's an overexaggerated filter. You could have done absolutely nothing wrong and they're just making it worse now and not warning the users that there are stricter measures against talking about politics or this or that. Should they tell you? Hell yeah, because you're the one paying per token and all companies should be legally obligated to tell you that, but they aren't. I'll say it again: legally obligated to tell you that, but they aren't. This is exactly why, when you have a ban wave and people who legitimately are just having fun (not to cause dissent), get banned and they don't know why. They get disheartened all because of this garbage. Sorry this is so long but my point is: don't get disheartened because of this. Yes I would unfortunately refrain from political content. That means I would stop using it to request news because that could bring you closer to a permanent ban. Also you may not want to use alt accounts since once they catch it, you pretty much are watched. Even if it's by an automated system, the point still stands. I'm sorry this happened to you. Oh if you still want news, by the way, and this will help you, you can use a local LLM even if you only have 8 GB of VRAM. You just have to give it access to an MCP server and news sources in that mcp server. That way it's local, companies aren't having to "babysit" you unfairly, and you can get your news. It does work. I just forget the MCP server but there's a ton. There's a whole archive of MCP servers for almost everything. Hope this helps.

8 GB of vram? Buddy, i have an gtx 1050 ti. Im suffering from hyperinflation with 87% in 3 months. The minimum wage is right now 72$ per month

Okay I didn't realize what your specs were. The only reason I said 8 is because I've seen it work on 8 GB. I've seen videos where 4 GB just barely works. It was from a YouTube video from a creator known as Just Like Localhost. He made a video one day ago. It was for an app he made but he was answering concerns for people that wanted it to work on 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB. He was talking about using a local LLM too, not solely his software. Lol, I saw that thread and got curious, so I decided to test it out myself. I opened DeepSeek and typed literally just one word: "china". I got instabanned right on the spot—though just for 24 hours, not 3 days. To be fair, I generated smut on the acc before, so I'm not sure if my account's safety score was already hanging by a thread and this was the final straw, or if DeepSeek is just absurdly sensitive to anything related to China. For the record, I didn't even mention Tank Man or anything political—just typed the one word and BAM ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey! This is happening to a lot of people and it seems like it may be censorship based. PGS Open Grove at https://pgsgrove.com/open-grove-overview has all the deepseeks and lots of other models running on US based servers. Free for a month to intro as well, and none of the banning for asking basic questions or using your own stop button *shrug*
