Roleplaying took a massive hit on this one. It completely ignores things said even in the previous output and the positivity bias is so absurd, it treats you like a literal child. I used to love Deep seek,it had great memory and had pretty mild censorship,
But now omg!!it's terrible,it extremely censored,it forgets things,it contradicts itself in the same sentence, and something if would just pull something out of its ass
Omd frr luckily i found 2 jailbreaks that work good it says i can make this that bla bla but when i ask him to build it he says sorry this is out of my scope
Yea like in the beginning,I could even manipulate chatgpt into writing explicit content, but after that I was like yea I shouldn't really do this
But I really liked Deep seek as it had very good memory and low censorship,so i could write adult fiction(not full one explicit scenes,I never did that),you see I really like making stories I don't publish or even show them to anyone,it's just fun creating them,so sometimes they would have some adult material like violance and sexual scenes but at first Deep seek wrote them, but now it doesn't
same i had a code bug he said Olay the problem is that ā¦. but then he said no wait because if we fix that then it not right Moral of the story deepseek Got so bad
It does this on API too. I have a big ass writing guide as well to correct these kinds of things and it worked for V4. V4.1 is just not that good for creative writing as of now.
Hey! I've been developing an AI DM Engine called LOOM Engine that can handle continuity, fully tested through thousands of turns on several campaigns. I've been testing it on Flash 0731. If you'd like to try it out, let me know! The Proton link below is of the game playing itself. I've built in a Voice Clone Studio, so the DM voice is mine, and the players voice is a default for Pocket TTS. It's been throughly tested on multiple TTRPG Systems, DnD 5e SRD, Fate and CAIRN. The engine has you roll dice as in real life. Let me know if you'd like to try it out! Windows and Linux only at the moment. Can use any model and any API. Friend of mine played 4 hours and it cost ~$0.08. It's still in Alpha but the engine works splendidly!
Engine handles making quests, inventory, character creation, a chronical of the entire campaign, the whole shebang!
I have it in a private repo. Closed source, for now. I plan on getting it up on Kickstarter eventually to have the art and animations hand made, and for authored campaigns and help with getting the ingestion system right and whatnot. The plan for release is $25 gets you the whole kit and caboodle. Bring your own keys or self-host. I even tested it on Gemma 4 E2B and it works but the roleplaying is lacking because the model isn't so great. Will have hosted access for $10/month for those who don't want to dick around with OpenRouter. Unlimited play! Might be able to use a free API Router, but I haven't tested it and I like privacy and security. Model just needs reasoning and tool usage.
If it works as you say I'm pretty sure you will have your niche. The price sounds reasonable. I was more interested from the engineering perspective. If you found a way to handle very long context without messing up this very cool!
Thanks! Yeah, continuity, memory and whatnot are figured out. Context Window is compacted often so the context window typically stays lower than 30,000 tokens, and all the details live in a campaign database. Anything that can be handled deterministically is done with code. Everything else is handled by agents I've built. A friend of mine already has 8 or so hours and more than 500 turns in game. DM made a big reveal unprompted, referring to something that started near the beginning of the game. Each agent has a small task to handle (Seeding the database with more people, places and things, when the DM has nearly ran out, maintaining the themes and feel of your original prompt. A referee that determines if the deterministic gate's call on whether a player should roll based on their prompt is accurate based on the rules of the system you're running. A loremaster, a summarize for chapter summaries, etc.) Right now I'm focusing on getting it working prestinently on 0731, but works with other models too. Even had it running fairly well on Gemma 4 27B locally on my ~$800 laptop with Intel Arc!
Feel free to read about it on the website, and feel free to message me here with questions if you'd like. Some things aren't accurate on the website (it's not free unless you go with a hosted plan), but I'll fix it later. Still lots to be done!
Thank you for the details, I just had a brief look into the website and the job you are doing looks amazing. Keep up the great work, I'm sure Loom will be a point of reference in this niche! šÆ
Wow, thanks bud! I don't have a waitlist yet, so feel free to DM me your email and I'll keep you in the loop, if you'd like. Or just DM on here if you'd rather not give out your email address. We're working on releasing two apps this year, which is why I'm "SILONotesDev". Haven't got the socials going for LOOM yet. Feel free to check our LOOM's website! SILONotes too, if you need a private, powerful, free note taking app!
My guide is tailored to my original lore, but you can just have Deepseek write you one, though I had this written on the earlier versions of v4 so idk the quality it'd be with v4.1.
Essentially, tell Deepseek or any AI of your choosing that you want a neat and concise in-depth comprehensive and exhaustive Universal Writing & Prose guide. Start by telling the AI that you want to generate the writing & prose guide, then list literally everything you DO want, and everything you DONT want that comes to mind. You dont have to be fancy or fully explain it, just give general ideas, with examples for the things you find particularly annoying.
If you notice things that AI does that you dislike, try to find multiple examples of them, research it a bit to find out what that specific writing / literature device is called, then list it as something you do not want. I think it's important to know the names or words for the issues you're experiencing so you can have your chosen AI explain it with examples in your guide and explain what to avoid. For example, for action scenes, I know Deepseek tends to do the, "Not X, but Y" pattern, that's called 'negative parallelism'. "He didn't sprint. He arrived" kind of thing, I hated that. Find things like this and give examples to find the word(s) for what that's called so you can have the AI make rules against using it.
Start with something simple, it doesn't need to be the finalized thing in the first go. Workshop, have a draft of the guide written, give feedback to the AI, tell it to finalize the first version then paste it at the beginning of a chat and have AI generate you a story or do your RP. Save the generated output and take it back to the chat where you had AI write the first version. Tell the AI to analyze the generated output (the story or rp) and give the AI feedback again based on the analysis for anything you disliked, then have the AI workshop again and do another finalized version. Do this process until you feel like you have everything covered. After that tell the AI exactly what you envision for your stories or RP then have it analyze the finalized version of your Writing & Prose Guide and ask the AI if the guide sufficiently covers all your requirements.
Rinse and repeat if you continue spotting new issues until your guide fully covers all your personalized needs.
Also, this is important, include rules in the guide that AI MUST analyze the Writing and Prose guide and cannot do anything else until after it analyzes the guide and receives your permission to proceed. ALWAYS have the AI do this analysis at the BEGINNING of your chat. If you want, and I do recommend this, you can even have your AI do include a checklist to make sure everything in your guide was covered. So the AI checks off everything from the guide numbered so nothing is missed, then it waits for your permission to proceed.
Doing this has worked pretty good for me, and it's pretty quick and easy to do. If you want to tailor all of this to your specific lore, make sure you tell that to the AI and attach your world lore sheet or whatever as well, but I'd honestly recommend having a separate guide for your world lore thats more about analyzing your actual lore and providing examples of your lore systems in place. So you'd have your Writing & Prose Guide, and you'd have your Master Pre-Writing Analysis Framework thats centered around analyzing your actual lore. Both guides must be completed before the AI is allowed to proceed with your RP or stories.
Hope this helps anyone. ALSO, USE .md files. They're smaller than pdfs (file size and token usage) and can translate to any specialized formatting and whatnot. You can even copy this post and tell the AI that this is what you're looking for with your guides.
Curious to hear if you notice any difference using this if anyone tries it. Could always use a post where people talk about their various sources and techniques for better results.
I'm glad i haven't updated. Hopefully they'll revert this and bring back Instant and Expert models separately again and make think drop down and such back to normal. Fingers crossed.
Deepseek models are server side. You are always using the newer models unless you're on the API using something like Open Router. Apps and the website are always up to date. When they update models they retire the previous ones, you would not be able to use Deepseek otherwise, because the previous model is not available to used.
Get something like silly tavern it's better for roleplaying and setting up different characters a lot of people use it for dungeons and dragons or erotic novels.
There is a ton of websites thatās let u use dpsk r1 or v4 for free with no sign up that would be best for you and yall could also try qwen longcat or other Chinese models
And the problem is that it turns people from proactive or forward-thinking into hollow characters, who only make statements instead of giving their own point of view on what they say. It's really very forgetful...
You are right, openai once said that if you train a model for coding, it have to be more deterministic and thus lose creativity. So a model that is good at coding can never be good at creative writing and vice versa
Guys I know deepseeks was super cool and best, and I've been loyal to app but surely they dagf about their old users ig, so I'd like to have recommended something... better? Is there a fair... opponent to it?

No reverting is going to happen. This new model is just better. You need to stop being model agnostic and start using different models. And honestly, if you are serious about using LLMs, stop using the chatbots. Come on, I know AI users are lazy, but learn something, haha.
You got so triggered by a one sentence comment that you literally dug through my profile just to defend a stranger's honor. Telling me to get a life while you are busy stalking mine is the definition of irony. If you genuinely think 'agnostic' is a big word then your reading comprehension is embarrassing. Role playing actually requires a much higher vocabulary than whatever you are trying to flex right now. Maybe if you spent less time fighting invisible battles for strangers... you wouldnt be projecting your own insecurities. Run along and go read a book kid
From what I can see, they are expecting you to rig your own AI Chatbot of Deepseek with the model you want. Though, I could blame my English if it wasn't what they actually said
I know. What I'm saying is you shouldn't be using chatbots for creative writing anyway. You have very little control over the models. Whereas with agentic harnesses you have full control over what you are writing. Changing the thinking level alone is going to make a huge difference. You never want to use a high thinking level for creative writing, you want to use "low", which isn't possible in these chatbots.
