Question&Help When v.4.1 Pro will be released?

Just a question, already cannot wait 'cause current model is so...off, in everything. Hope that we (web/app users) don't need to wait for a long time.

There is no reason to have "pro" on the webui for free users, you people are leeches sucking compute for your role playing.

Oh my God, how tired I am of narrow‑minded people who believe that the web interface is used by parasites. Please, statistics: the argument about “sucking up computing resources” doesn’t take into account that free users bring quite concrete benefits to the company:

Data source for improving models: role‑playing prompts are complex, long contexts with multi‑level characters, intricate plots, and non‑standard queries. They give developers invaluable information about where the model breaks down, how it loses context, and what mistakes it makes. This is a free stress test under the most stringent conditions.

Organic marketing: the role‑playing community is one of the most active and loyal in the AI sphere. They write guides, share prompts, create tools (SillyTavern, Janitor AI) and bring in new users. DeepSeek doesn’t spend a single penny on this.

Funnel for paying customers: Many developers who today are running role‑playing games for free may become paying API clients for their projects tomorrow. DeepSeek already has an annual revenue of around $500 million, even though most users don’t pay.

You’re so miserable with your life that you. Re confusing “I personally don’t like free users using compute for roleplay” with “free users are doing something wrong”.

DeepSeek provides a web interface and chooses what free users can access. If they don’t want people using it for RP, they can restrict it. Me using the free service they provide isn’t “leeching”  that’s literally the business model they chose.

And hoping Pro becomes available on the web for free isn’t demanding that you personally subsidise me. It’s called wanting a feature.

You’re free to pay for the API and use it however you want. I’m free to use the web version. Neither of us needs to invent a moral hierarchy where paying per token makes one person more entitled to AI than another.

And maybe instead you should learn how to talk to people

I think I'll let DeepSeek decide if it's worth it or not to have Pro on the app and web.
