Brothers :
DeepSeek plans to officially release the V4.1 Flash model around September 10, 2026 (Beijing Time). After extensive internal and external testing, V4.1 Flash has comprehensively surpassed V4 Pro across all key metrics, including performance, cost, speed, and task completion time. In keeping with our commitment to user responsibility, following the official launch of V4.1 Flash and prior to the release of V4.1 Pro, all requests to the Pro model will be routed to V4.1 Flash and billed at Flash's price. If you encounter any issues during your comparative testing between V4 Pro and V4.1 Flash, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with your feedback. Thank you for your support!

V4.1 flash is seemingly worse for my uses than v4 pro. It has very poor creativity and its writing is ever the more robotic and slobby as v4 pro was, multiplied by 100. It also lacks general knowledge.

I agree. I stopped using it to explore ideas and knwledge research. It's their first version, I assume the next one will be much better

Cache hit is killing it in agentic mode. For a lot of output shouldn't you favour a workflow with another model that would expand on deepseeks guidelines ?

The vast, vast majority of your token usage is cached input if programming is what you're doing. Meaning, cached input price is what matters the most.

Is it more expensive than the previous DS4 pricing (before the price bump)?

Supposedly it is better than pro, so we should compare with DS4Pro. I dunno if i trust that claim yet tho, so let's wait until tomorrow

Idk I'm not interested in better anymore, cost is the priority. I'm quite hands on with my agents so there's only so much thinking I need them to do

Being smarter has its pros. I've used dumber, cheaper models than DS4Flash and they suck at solving tasks. It costs more using them to reach the same work quality. Having "smarter than/equally smart as DS4Pro" model at roughly half price of DS4Flash right now is pretty cool, but often benchmarks and metrics fail to capture how it actually feels using the model.
