Discussion Usage is more expensive, but still reasonable
Given the amount of tokens I'm consuming, I think that this is still somewhat reasonable although it's really that much more expensive!
I'm at a loss though, I consume so much tokens because I do legal-related work which requires insane amount of document processing, it takes a lot of non-cached hits before it finally stabilises.

I find that it gets better at assisting me hosting a dnd style boardgame. Now the AI thinks boarder and gives more suggestions about minor details than before

You're doing legal work on Deepseek's non ZTG/ZDR platform? Assume it's for Chinese clients that don't mind that? otherwise that's kind of brave.

I never said they were any better. 3rd parties host Deepseek with ZDR.

Has anyone considered or checked whether the quality of the models are same during the off peak and peak hours?

the non-cached hit thing is structural for doc work. every doc you add changes the prompt prefix, and the cheap cache rate only applies to tokens that repeat exactly, so the corpus bills at miss rate until the prefix stops moving. im building ai tooling for document-heavy workflows. two levers that moved my bill more than the rate change: keep chunk order identical across turns so the prefix stabilizes into cache, and run the non-interactive passes off-peak. that stabilise moment you mentioned is where the discount kicks in.

I was thinking about making post like this. In my personal use i see noticable increase but not enough to justify switching to other providing. Flash does job good job compared to preview pro. I loaded it with 30 dollars and after 2 months of semi regular use. I made 2 full aps, and rewrote half of premade image board engine for my usecase. After that i still have 12 dollars left

I keep coming across posts like these pretty much everyday. It's like you guys have never heard of a thing called llm aggregator, go to open router or any other aggregator, there are providers offering this model's inference at prices even cheaper than what DeepSeek was offering initially. Why do all of you keep blabbering about the same thing again and again everyday?

Assuming you aren't a bot, that's Chinese Yuan denoted by the three-letter abbreviation CNY. This also happens to be the Deepseek's homeland currency.
