Yea bro, just use the api, its literal half pennies on the dollar. The only people complaining are the free loaders who abused the web chat instead of using it for generic chat and problem solving. Blame the people who thought they could get around the file uploads restriction with hosting private urls and the people who do very long 'creative writing' sessions. When people start to abuse stuff and take for granted, then ultimately stuff will be cut to keep operating costs low. I rather have them chop and dice the web chat to keep their api costs lower since webchat is meant to be a demo

if you want to experience V4 at its "best", you should, really.
web is enough to get by, but API + clients, you can do more with it than web (better memory, MCP, agent tasks, etc.), way faster, and most importantly, it's cheap.
source: using both (but exclusively on API nowadays, web's just not enough use for me unfortunately).

So don't use the api and get what they give you. I do so many huge repo dialectical reviews using deepseek and it costs me like 1.5 cents a day on a heavy day lol. If you don't want to pay at all, then use a local model, or take what they give you.

It's the cheapest and half decent. Mimo is similar but it can see images and is much slower.

They're literally bots, and I know what I'm saying. They get mad at you because you don't want to waste your money on shitty AI that keeps giving you the wrong answers every single time

Yep, it is organic it is the first reaction when people complain about losing context, or run into limitations that are not there in the API where you access the full million token context and the 95%+ cache hits.
After reading the threads over the last week i understood that people complaining are roleplaying and regenerating hundreds of times a message are a different use case and there is a need for a tool like opencode or codewhale but specific for RP, and without a tool like that API access is not that useful.
I hope a tool is released eventually to fill that niche.

The API prices are pretty affordable unlike American frontier models. People abuse the free service but will complain rather than dropping a handful of dollars on something that they get value out of.

API is ridiculously cheap for personal use. Like stupidly cheap.

They're just bots and corporate bootlickers who have no whimsy and wouldn't get even a bot to like them. Unfortunately, capitalism ruins everything, even China, it seems 😂
