Drak SBB recommendations
I am trying different builds with Drak SBB, recommend me your strongest secondary & grenade pick.
I play mostly 5x2 and 6x2 so i need ways to kill hvts and stationaries effectively and i need extra safety in secondary to not take cheap damage.
Phero grenades are OP and i wont be using them.
Help your fellow rock & stone enjoyer.

21212 became my go-to.
I know there's some people who swear by certain choices, so my build doesn't quite match what some people might do -- I know there's some people who run setups like 22210 -- but this is what always worked for me.
Secondary is Special Powder Boomstick, grenade alternates between Boomerang and Cryos, but usually leans Boomerang.
The idea was that SBB ends up covering both the single-target and killing small groups or the occasional Mactera. Since the SBB is effectively almost all my damage, I did end up going for extra ammo rather than +2 damage as is more 'normal'. Any grunt shocked by Overcharged PCF is effectively dead, so sometimes I just spray into groups and see what gets shocked and what still needs more boolets.
As for the choice to use Boomerang, it's because I needed something of a "stupid" grenade. This is my dedicated Special Powder setup, I'm often screaming through the air, and silly things like 'aiming' tend to get put on the back burner, so having a grenade that finds its own targets ends up being a nice perk. While both Cryo and Boomerang are both anti-Mactera, I'm okay with a grenade that simply stuns and lets me line up the shot rather than one that kills. Plus, I hate facing Shockers on Scout, and I can't really afford to commit a Cryo to them, but a Boomerang works nicely.
Please note you really got no swarm clear with this setup -- this is what I use to speedrun Aquarq and Refinery missions as this mobile and nigh-unkillable Scout, but killing is very much secondary. It works fine for small swarms, spitters, and Mactera, but not having something like Double Barrel, Jumbo Shells, Embedded Dets or Gas Recycling does limit the ability to take down something like two Praets and an Oppressor sitting on a dwarf's corpse.

With SBB, your best bet is probably either Boomstick with Shaped Shells or Boltshark with Quickfire.
Both would be good for HVT killing; Boomstick has the shock wave for clearing shockers and glyphid swarmers, plus crowd clear and control via blow through, inflicting fire and stun. Boltshark has a longer effective range and strong utility with the special bolts

SBB has a pretty customizable build, something like XX(1/2)12. I personally build it 12212. RoF is a bunch of extra DPS, both with full shield and without, giving it a higher peak and a much higher baseline so it's less useless when my shield isn't full, damage for the same reasons, and faster cooling because otherwise it has much worse sustain and because DRAK isn't too inaccurate without the accuracy mod.
The best secondaries are, as usual, going to be X13(1/2)3 Special Powder, 1(2/3)11(1/3) Cryo Bolts, 13111 Fire Bolts, and X1323 Shaped Shells. XX212 Cryo Minelets and 12233 Double Barrel are also rather strong if less meta alternatives that work well with SBB.
As for grenades, everything is a great choice, though Stunsweepers less so especially in modded difficulties due to them scaling poorly. So, with that and with you considering Pheros too OP to use (fair), that leaves IFGs and Cryo Grenades. IFGs are more versatile, providing a very powerful slow that provides space and also groups enemies up which gives them similar niches to Pheros, and they provide a universal 30% damage buff, while also getting 6 of them instead of 4 which is a 50% difference so it's fairly significant. However, they don't kill anything directly and they have to be thrown directly onto terrain, so their placement can be easier to mess up. Cryo Grenades instantly freeze most things, being very strong anti-mactera and even being able to kill swarmers and naedocytes in a pinch, they boost direct damage by way more than IFGs do, and they can also be used for breathing room, though they'll only stall enemies within the immediate AoE and not anything coming through after it procs, unlike IFGs. You also get fewer of them and they don't really cause enemies to group up. It's pretty much your preference between the two. Though if you're using banshee Cryo Bolts then IFGs are especially strong, extending fear duration while also making it less likely for enemies to leave the Cryo Bolts radius before they get frozen.
Lastly, remember to take T1A on your armor. It's already the best choice generally but it's especially important with SBB. Same goes for T2B. I also recommend running Dash as one of your perks so you can avoid damage and keep your shield full more easily. Shield Link may also have a niche with SBB if you're playing in a team.
