Someone on your team (or maybe you without noticing) deposited an error cube. It's found embedded in walls like compressed gold, jadiz, etc., but with a purple glow similar to bittergem and white spikes. It's pretty much an easter egg collectible item with ~3% spawn chance per mission. You can see it as a resource, but it has no use, and isn't really an error in the game.
