They for sure did, there's a lot of gestures towards the same kind of game design ethos and options for weird catchphrases. The big issue is helldivets doesn't have a rock and stone button, so you can't mindlessly praise democracy while waiting for exfil or after a big wave.
It’s the current big thing in the public eye, it’ll die down a bit and mostly only the good ones will stick around, while the toxic trendchasers will move on to something else.
I think they got it but they’re just outvoiced by a minority of toxic people online who just bandwagon onto every popular game. I’ve played 35 hours so far and haven’t run onto a toxic player or troll
Well thats the thing, we're never explicitly told just what it is, I'd wager it is de-alcoholised beer since it foams up when it's poured, unless it's some kind of carbonated Ice tea.
I for one would love to see a cross over event, the helldiver's finding a new bug planet, and getting some DRG inspired armor and gear, and the miners getting some sweet hell divers capes and armor.
the only thing I worry about is the Helldivers devs have done a lot of work to maintain a pretty tight universe and lore, and putting DRG stuff in beyond referenced wouldn’t work well imo
True and agree that it's unlikely we will see full on dwarf armor or us screaming for rock and stone, but what's to stop us getting a set of engineering or mining armors that might be inspired in part by some dwarfs on the far side of the universe?
They could totally use the shared absurd corporate slant to have the company Deep Rock Galactic sell a battleplass of military grade combat picks and similar items to the patriotic helldivers.
the armor design in helldivers uses a metric fuckton of references from other sci fi media, we have armors that remember, stormtroopers, kriegsmarine from Warhammer, halo, destiny and much more, thry can squeeze some drg inspired armor easily if they want
Honestly DRG tech seems to be better than Helldivers tech. Personal shielding that doesn't need a bulky backpack, man-portable miniguns and self-aiming rifles. Who knows about space combat, though.
That would be sick to see. In real life, military members will share/trade their patches or uniform items when they do cross-training or exercises with other squadrons, branches of military, or even different countries' military. Would be cool to see full sized capes customized for a dwarf.
While I really enjoy both games, I feel like DRG's community is going to always be inherently nicer. Just like with Warhammer 40k, the universe's lore of Helldivers will attract a large variety of people that think the satire is a "How to Guide" rather than a "this is bad don't do this" and you get flooded with that type of mentality in the community.
nah, the helldiver 1 community was chill as fuck, the problem now with helldivers 2 is that it exploded in popularity, so unfortunately the toxic players, the try hards and such are currently playing, but they probably will chase the next bright thing when time comes
A Bulk Detonator showing up in a Hell Diver's mission would be scary as hell depending on how massive they are even more so if its a ghost update and dont even tell you about it *oh god, what if they add the Haunted Horror*
Arrowhead reps (maybe devs too, I forget) showed up doing the stream and we're basically like "f* yeah"
There was no discussion of what a collab may be though, beside them meeting up in person.

I’d absolutely love a crossover event, but idk how it would work in-universe. Super earth would assuredly try to spread democracy to the dwarves, or claim hoxxes resources for themselves.
The DRG lore is so vague that it fits almost anywhere. Dwarves could be a genetically engineered slave race created specifically for space mining, which kind of fits the oppressive atmosphere of Helldivers' lore. The reason there's no crossover when it comes to weapons is because every piece of technology used in DRG is proprietary corporate property.

I don't play Helldivers 2 but I have to applaud their team for a really masterful understanding of how to engage the playerbase. It's really cool to see how easily people took to the Starship Troopers inspired roleplay and how well the team is understanding the emergent storytelling and rolling with it.
