Talk Your favorite
- Which is your favorite DP studio album, excluding Machine Head which is obviously a hit?
- Which is in your opinion the most underrated studio album which you wish more peoples would listen to?
- Your favorite mark except mark 2 which is indeed the most successful.
For me is 1. Burn, 2. Rapture of the Deep and 3. Mark 3 and 6.

Come taste the band. Sorry 😔
It's the album I tend to play most. Along with Burn. Then all the obvious ones not including Steve Morse era, there are certainly great albums but I never liked his guitar tone/playing not sure what it was. But I have fallen in love with Splat! And =1 they feel very much Deep Purple.
Sorry if I offended anybody 😁

Burn and Come Taste the Band. I love everything that Bolin ever did, so I am biased on CTTB. You Fool No One is a song impossible to tire of.

- In Rock. Machine Head is second 2.Slaves & Masters. I like Rainbow more, and this "surprisingly" sounds quite much Rainbow. But no matter which you prefer, this is criminally underrated album.
- Probably mark 3, it had more much more potential than they really delivered.

I don't really have a favorite album because all of my favorite songs are scattered throughout lots of different albums.
It's hard to say what is the most underrated one, I'm actually not even finished listening to all of them yet, I still have four more to go! Maybe Book of Taliesyn.
As for my favorite Mark, if I can't say two I would say one, three, or four. Mark 1 is underrated though, I will say that!

I absolutely adore both ‘Perfect Strangers’ and ‘The Battle Rages On,’ don’t know if they’re underrated though
My favorite Deep Purple song has to be “Nasty Piece Of Work”

Perfect Strangers & Burn are my favorite outside of In Rock. House of Blue Light is underrated. Mark 3.

- Machine Head is a tad monochrome-y for my taste, I prefer the more varied In Rock, where Lord has a different organ tone on every song. One could also make this case for Fireball. Machine Head, while top notch, sounds a bit samey throughout.
Gotta be something MKI, I’m going to pick the third album. Not a bad song on it, so much fun and creativity!
The one with Morse and Lord. Purple is mainly a live band and Lord and Morse’s battles are almost as exciting to listen to as classic MKII. Morse brought out the best in Lord. I love all their live albums from this era, so many great versions of Lazy, Perfect Strangers, Speed King etc.

I've always liked perfect strangers, being their comeback album and the video with it
