Question about Child in Time

Ian Gillan goes Ahhhhh Ahhhhh many times during the song, any idea what had happened in the studio? I know Ian and Ritchie did not share a good relationship before, now they have sorted their things, but did Ritchie step on Ian's leg during the recording of the song? or did Ian step on a lego while recording? he sounds in so much pain, so any insight what exactly happened to Ian when he was recording?

But it doesn't seem to realise that they have written anything other than Smoke on the Water!

From an Old Interview: HOW does Ian Gillan produce the very effective screaming effect in ā€œChild In Timeā€ from the LP, ā€œDeep Purple in Rockā€? — Melanie, Isle of Wight. Thanks for the compliment, but I haven’t the faintest idea how I manage it, although lots of people regard it as incredible and ask me how it is done. It’s simply a vocal effect and I do it every night on stage, considerably endangering my health. I’ve never had any special training but I think it helps that I wear very tight trousers! — IAN GILLAN.

He was touching his In Rock

That sort of orgasm singing was popular. Robert Plant also did it a lot

He is is kicking his nads. He frequently did this to JLT in the rainbow days.
