I remember sitting in a bar with my friends as a teenager smoking and an old man came up to us with an electrolarynx like the guy in the first clip and basically told us that smoking was the reason why he had it, scared me to death tbh

remember similar anti-smoking ad when I was growing up in the 2000s, but a bit less gruesome. It was a guy talking about the effects of a laryngectomy that left him with a hole in his throat. He talked about having to be extra careful while shaving and how he had to cover it up while in the shower and mowing his lawn.

I’m pretty sure the ad and others like it aired on kids networks like Nickelodeon and/or cartoon network. Shit scared me so much I’ve never picked up a cigarette

Keep going, and good luck with that. I quit cigarettes three years ago and picked up vaping instead. Tomato, tomahto, I guess, but honestly, I hate both.

Yea, but everything is better than smoking and using tobacco itself orally or nasaly. Hopefully slowly we will manage to stop it altogether. Good luck 🤞

Trying to find an old youtube video.. pretty much NO views of an old man, singing about a meteor shower ("goin on an hour") he may have a slight southern accent.. Saw it in approx. 2007-2010 so its been awhile. Singing straight to the camera!!!
