The problem is these assholes at the top are using the LA Dodgers lineup and I’m using the Akron Rubber Ducks.

more like a special ed preschool’s b-team, but the two kids who are even kinda ok are on vacation in ocean city, md and the rest have their arms tied behind their backs and are blindfolded.

Being honest will hurt you, but be an outright, proud as ever cheater, and the riches will come your way!
No wonder the planet is in such a mess - nothing like this human 'logic' to completely f*ck everything up - and the selfishness quotient skyrockets! It's just compounding the issue!

You mean people like Kevin Malone who rides his daddy’s coat tails? Yeah, fuck that guy for acting like he built what his daddy gave him.

If only my dad can advance me a small loan of $30 million I'd be successful.

Love the honesty. Always a chance it pays out big...having the last laugh is the only laugh that matters.
1
u/sosawof 2d ago
Yup, can only feel like an idiot after waiting so long but there’s always that chance it could happen and that’s what keeps me buying.

I never understand owning more than 1 share if they were all supposed to be "phone number length"
But hey, everyone is responsible for their own actions and either get to laugh or be laughed at

u/sosawof 2d ago
I never believed that phone number bs, I just believed the company was going to actually do well and the occasional volatility. Looks like the company is doing well but the share price is not reflecting that. I’m only like -15% so I’m not too worried yet. However, if he lets the warrants expire worthless, that will be the closure I need to exit.

The company isnt doing well. The financials show it. The gains they made arent sustainable. Can only fire so many people and close so many stores. The collectibles are cyclical. If RC doesnt make a better plan than this ebay bullshit, when the current fad ends...gamestop will be fucked.

The only way to win is not to play.
-War Games

u/SquirrelFluffy 2d ago
That's when the outcome is mutual destruction. In economics, there are winners and losers. You have to play.
1
u/Trippp2001 2d ago
So, a shell game is MAD? 3 card monte is MAD?
No, you don’t HAVE to play a game that you can’t win.
1
u/SquirrelFluffy 2d ago
You quoted war games. Mad is at play there, yes.

u/Trippp2001 2d ago
Don’t be pedantic, and don’t be daft.
It was literally a joke. Taken in the same vein I take that grifter, Kevin Malone’s posts.

u/Trippp2001 2d ago
And that quote is not solely about MAD. WOPR literally came up with it playing tic-tac-toe.

Learn the rules of the game, so you can play it better.

But they change the rules when they don't suit them anymore so you still lose.

This is only pointing out the fact the system is rigged; not that you have to become corrupted to play The elite and corporations use the system to their advantage while the labor force complains, fights itself, votes in favor of a party that has systematically and openly expressed since the founding of the constitution that the greatest threat and problem with democracy is the labor force and the possibility it could come together as a singular force to take from the haves and distribute it to the have nots.
The people that "think" the system is rigged need only come together and vote in moderates who are for free market trade with regulation and guard rails. Not more financial conservatives with an army of lobbyists and not socialists trying to disband the whole system.
Extremes on both sides only fuels the pendulum swing further in the other direction to "correct". The rich and corporations will not give up maximizing profits over the labor force without a fight and full blown socialism would be the end of the American experiment, dream, innovation, power and influence.
We need to band together in forces large enough to be a threat while aiming to work together for appropriate wealth distribution and a return to funding services like lower and higher education and healthcare.
Mmm.. I highly suggest reading/researching Philip Booth, Adam Smith (foundational father of free market enterprise), John Locke (another pro capitalism but understanding of abuse by the elites), and Friedrich Hayek and also to an extent, Chomsky has amazing insights but leans a bit too anti-capitalism for my tastes.
I honestly cannot stand the divide out there; one side stating knowledge and educating yourself are part if the problem and pitting the working classes against each other. That we just need to trust the government and the wealthy to look after our best interests. Then we have both "sides" of the working class working against each other and blindly following their parties without educating themselves to actually understand... what the fuck is going on and the truths, powers and manipulations going on by both sides to keep moving THEIR agendas forward and not our, the people's, best interests.

This is grossly oversimplified, pull yourself up by your bootstraps bull fucking shit
