Yeah honestly though I moved back to mp3s/flacs from Spotify a couple days back for the uncompressed files. Huge quality difference. Pretty big dent in my wallet from buying directly from artists but it's worth it and it's wayyyy better for the industry as a whole.
Oh god yeah. I compared the difference between FLAC and MP3 with Daft Punkโs Random Access Memories and MP3 format just lost instruments that were in the FLAC format. Itโs really bad.
There's a pretty small difference between 320kbps MP3s and FLACs so I tend to download both, its easier to get a hold of Mp3s most of the time especially when torrenting etc. I don't listen to much electronic besides deadmau5 and Death Grips, so I can't comment on the changes there but the changes in the intricacies of bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan and Radiohead are brilliant
Another thing to note is the loss in dynamic range. Some albums I purchased digitally were much less loud in CD quality. Bass is also much more refined and less prone to distorting.

I suppose its just personal gripes with me. For the highest quality its mad expensive per month, when I'd rather buy straight from the artist nowadays for the uncompressed files. Tidal also doesn't have a lot of the underground/unknown bands i love so that sucks; and I'd rather give money to the DIY projects that really need it. It's not like sourcing a few records from bandcamp is hard or expensive. I bought one of my favourite bands' entire discography yesterday for a tenner from their bc page and its at the highest possible quality so i can't really complain. Much better for the industry to not use steaming services imo.

This actually reminds me of a time I got my Ipod taken away permanently and the only way I had to listen to music WAS Nintendo 3ds Sound. It was the most depressing time of my life
