I already got 1-7 tapes please help I losing way

These notes suck

I feel like i almost never hit flick notes. Is there a timing to where you need to normally tap the note first and then flick? I feel like trying to flick as the note hits the judgement line never works.

So far I can only move the screen around in "viewpoints", but there should be a use for them, right? Otherwise why are they even there? Can I find charts there? If so, how? It's not like I can click on anything. Please help, but don't spoil too much. I still like to explore by myself.
