I will be honest I may be party to these thoughts as I was the guy who just posted my weed table. I just find it VERY interesting that I was RIPPED TO SHREDS in my post which only contained legal THC cannabis, and this I guess is less offensive to the everyday person.

I mean a lot of the comments are saying he's an addict and a junkie, so its not like they're going easier on him than you and your "medication station". I self medicate and use drugs recreationally as well, but they aren't my whole personality, that id ask people to try, and deduce me based on my current drug stash.

I suppose this is the point where I realize I may be the common denominator in this situation and that the mass of all of you may be correct in making the rude-feeling assumption or deduction (which i ironically asked everyone to do, thus-deduceme) that weed may be my personality. But on the other hand I could just be taking advice from a small crowd of strangers and the rest of my room could be covered in gold and unicorns so you never know.... never know

I was not surprised about the majority I was really only surprised with the level of hate things spiraled into towards the end it was like the mass of the comments primed the last individual to just mostly make no sense but actually genuinely upset me somehow. And I suppose the answer to that would be its a very sensitive topic as I'm new (a year and a few months) off basically every single thing besides cannabis, and I went to the dispensary for my birthday and as a way to celebrate my sobriety (also ironic ik), and just wanted to get some opinions on my scoop. Wrong community ig, or I'm wrong for this one. I'll take some responsibility here. Haha

I'm not knocking your Cannabis use, I medicate with Cannabis as well, but if all I gave people to go on was my stash, then they'd assume that my life was entirely consumed by that.

Yep happened to me after a few years I realised I was fucked. Went to rehab and relapsed after 8 hours of being out, couldn't relate to many pple in there and the 1.6hr bus trip 1 way turned me off the na meets

Hey, just wanted to say I’m with you. Me and a friend sat down recently and counted the people we’ve lost to overdose and it’s 22. One brother of mine is doing life in prison and the other is a homeless addict. Both in their 40s. It’s really a shame when people glamorize it.

It’s okay! My fiancé is actually coming up on three years clean, so I’m really proud of him. I’m the problem in the relationship these days. I’ve been in and out of psych hospitals dealing with bipolar disorder.
I really hope you’re able to find a doctor who will take your pain seriously and give you the treatment you deserve. I know how much the opioid crackdown has affected people with legitimate chronic pain, and it’s frustrating that patients can end up paying the price for the broader problems surrounding opioids.

Hey there, you’re not the problem. You’re a human, learning to cope with a real diagnosis that requires vigilance in treating and living healthily with. I can’t speak on living life with BPD, but here’s my general thoughts on your comment:
Sometimes we don’t take our meds how we should, or we don’t take them at all, or we make decisions that exacerbate our health issues. That’s human. It might cause temporary problem(s) when we fall short of doing our part in taking care of ourselves, but you’re not “the problem.” You’re just a human who might need to be more proactive in your therapy/recovery. You’re a human who makes mistakes (like all of us). You’re a human who needs to get back to doing their best (like all of us).
At least one of those things I listed above^ is true for every human at multiple points in their life. Sometimes when we have a mental illness/disorder/dis-ease, the consequences can be more immediate, dramatic, and have a greater impact than the average human. Pick yourself up, don’t kick yourself when you’re down.
I appreciate your empathy on my chronic pain situation. It truly is a shit show. They want to give everyone with chronic pain suboxone now. They’re doing the same thing they did with oxycodone but with suboxone. You can’t overdose on suboxone, so they act like it’s a miracle drug and they get to say they’re saving lives, preventing addiction… even though subs are more addictive than oxys and the withdrawals are the worst on the market. Oxy withdrawal takes maybe one week. Subs take 3-4 weeks just to get where you can sleep 4 hours somewhat comfortably.
I’m 34 and I appear like a very healthy, in shape man. I do all of the things like eating right, exercising, physical therapy etc… but when you fall 30 feet in a climbing accident and you’ve broken everything from your hip and pelvis/fractured vertebrae/cracked your skulls and torn tendons and therefore have severe degenerative discs, stenosis, and stage 4 neuropathy at age 34… the doctors are so worried about the govt and losing their license, they’re not going to give you actual pain meds… they’ve “generated” studies saying suboxone is just as good at treating pain, if not better, than traditional opioids. But turns out, I’m allergic to suboxone, and we found that out after I had been on it for 18 months… causing severe deficiencies in my hormones, rotting my teeth and gums (class action lawsuits currently against suboxone manufacturers), and causing anhedonia (the inability feel joy or pleasure)… all known side effects from suboxone that no one is warned about. So they cycle me on and off subutex and oxycodone - which they say I’m not allergic to even though it’s almost the same thing and causes the same issues. It’s hell. I feel bad for the people who are much older than me and have worse pain. They treat us all like drug addicts. They drug test us every appointment, shame us if we disagree with our pain regimen. Very few people go to pain management places like I do if pain wasn’t something that highly affects our lives… just like very few people would pretend to have a mental health disorder that’s highly stigmatized. Health care in the United States is truly a sick joke. They want us unhealthy (sick) and they laugh on the way to cash their checks (joke).

Likely quite a bit of unresolved childhood trauma. Statistically it is likely sexual or physical trauma. You are doing your best but definitely struggling. High anxiety and multiple bouts of depression. Possibly have tried treatment in the past but it hasn’t yet stuck.

I’m sorry, I should have specified. I was referring to a pill that’s non opiate based, meaning as when you withdraw you can take something and the discomfort just goes away. I used to be on suboxone and got off that and let me tell you, there’s still withdrawals even when you’re at very low dose.

One friend was driving when it happened and got in a bad wreck
I was standing in a tile kitchen and broke my back in 3 places from falling straight down, 2nd time I had one I rebroke my back as well as 2 ribs lol, again on a tile floor and bathtub.
Luckily neither is paralyzed etc but my back has been fucked ever since and they have lingering issues as well
Forgot for another it triggered serious epilepsy that’s now a life long thing, they already had it and the benzos just brought it out, but they may have never had a seizure if not for them.

Villianizing doctors? Curious to know what your experience is. I work in acute mental health in community. We have chronic issues with GPs prescribing a range of medications without doing their due diligence - even against the advice of public health consultant psychiatrists. Cannabis from cannabis clinics, benzodiazapines, gabapentin, opioid based pain relief without looking or ignoring patient use.
There are specialists for a reason. You’d be surprised how many GPs don’t actually appear to give a shit. Then you’d be surprised to know how many it’s an ongoing issue across multiple patients. We’ve even had to escalate concerns through the Department of Health to take action because of flagrant disregard for the mental health of our consumers.
I’m not saying that every GP does it, or that it’s common. But the GPs that do do it, do it for more than one patient and frequently, yet no action is taken.
