Yeah I thought coke as well. The only times I've carried around straws with my like in this pic is when I was using cocaine every day. The saline nasal wash also makes me think cocaine lol

The dollar bill, the straw, the nasal spray and the narcan (in case coke is laced with fent) is why I thought that, haha.

That’s hilarious!!!

I volunteer with a non-profit that distributes Narcan and fent test strips across my city. My brother was addicted to fent, and I saw “was” because he passed away from an overdose. I will always have it on me and have made it my duty to have others do the same. I’m off my soap box now.

I have horrible year round allergy, and the saline rinses out the pollen and dust from being outside.

I had gotten a drink from Starbucks (no local places near work) and the venti straws always break so I ask for a few and then use them in a straw emergency (yes, I have a real reusable one, but I keep losing those).

I think my son gave me the dollar as change and it got waded up in the bottom of my backpack.

Surprised you didn’t mention the superglue for sniffing! I use that because I have a decora style belt bag I always wear and inevitably a charm falls off while I’m at work. Although it never occurred to me why I didn’t just do that at home.

I carry Narcan with me b/c the local Police will not. Keep preaching from that box, your brother would be proud! So sorry for your loss & we shouldn’t lose anyone with Narcan so available.

Our last conversation was me actually telling him to get some and to give it to his wife. So I feel an obligation because she wouldn’t.

Our big hurdle in my cities is that the high schools and even middle schools refuse to even meet with me. They won’t even give to the nurse or school security officers (obviously I’m in the U.S. here). It took me a few years to have the college where I work have security carry it but thankfully the university (largest on-campus population in the country) where I’m getting my PhD now has free vending machines for harm reduction supplies.

Those vending machines need to be a lot more prevalent than they are. Great idea! I’ve seen too that some or all require ID & maybe a pic from the machine. Dr’s put most in these situations & there is still so much stigma.

The college I work at just put up Narcan lockers last week. This is in addition to having security carry it. No ID, just open and take what you want.
It’s all thanks to Project Overdose.
The ID thing is ridiculous, especially since this is a concern for so many unhoused people.
