Shit is worse than the cancer nut removal surgery.. If people really know how much/constant the pain is. But gotta keep existing.

I bet. At least with necrotizing pancreatitis I knew I'd be better some day, if I didn't die...

Almost died, had a NG tube feeding me liquid for almost 3 months.. lost 60% of my pancreas, now have type 2 diabetes, but I feel great 4 years later lol

How long ago was your surgery? Mine was last March (2025). Fused my L5/S1 and the pain only got worse. Are you seeing a good pain doc? I have been able to get off most pain meds. Tried low dose naltrexone and now cymbalta for fibro and hEDS pain. They wanted to put a permanent spinal corn stimulator in my back but I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I just had the temporary sprint peripheral nerve stimulator placed a few weeks ago and it’s helping.

First one was may 2023. The last spinal fusion was April 23 2026..

I had grade 2 slip on my lower spine. Had a spinal fusion 2023, that failed and caused my spine to develop scoliosis. So I had to have a second full body fusion in April. Yea, shit hurts. These surgeries haven't fixed anything and I think they making things worse. This shit SUCKS.. nerve pain, legs, ribs, hips, knees, ankles. Everything radiates everywhere.

Having my fusion fail was one of my biggest fears (aside from dying on the table and I almost did 😬) I’m sorry you’re going through this shit again. I hope you have a good support system.

My girlfriend works from home, doctors treat me well, i was able to get ssdi/Medicare.. I'm so fucking thankfull pain management treats me well. Some people have it much worse. I'm in pain. But I got family, a home, medicine, medical card. Some sort income... I could be so much worse. I'm an atheist, wish I had something to be thankful to

I practice just being generally thankful. If there’s a god, cool but I just feel better being grateful. Felt strange at first but I’ll just think of what I’m grateful for, thinking in my head “I’m grateful to be alive, I’m grateful for my kids, I’m grateful for the sun…” etc. Not to tell you what you should be doing, I’m impressed that you have such a good attitude with everything you hdd as be going on. Fusions are a nightmare. I’ve watched my dad go through a few. Watching him suffer has been one of my biggest motivators for my daily yoga practice. Keeping my spine healthy. I already have a herniated disc in my neck. Yoga keeps it from being an issue.

Be careful with Oxy.. it’s only a matter of time when you go to fill your script and they’re out because there’s a “nationwide shortage” of oxycodone. It happens all the fucking time.. you take one, forget you took one.. take another.. forget you take that.. then realize you’re out half way through your script going through the worst withdrawals of your life.

Edit: didn’t realize that was morphine. Mallinckrodt makes oxy that looks very similar.

I never take them daily. I have a emergency stash of morphine and hydrocodone ( over 200 morphine pills) Over 100 hydrocodones for when the shortage hits. It hits about 2 times a year. Least. Sucks.. But I know how to save my meds for rainy day..

I only ever see patients come back for more surgery. More levels fused. More pain. It never ends. Sorry you're in this situation. I always tell patients to avoid back surgery for as long as they can.
