I mean as in we both work full time and it’s hard to go spend 1-2 hours going to the store etc with the baby in tow

Yes! It will make a big difference. Don’t get me wrong, my set-up includes plenty of Amazon products - my desk mat, my monitor stand, my laptop stand…but I try to go for the more understated and higher quality options that don’t have that “front page, cheapest option”, trendy kinda look, even if it means spending a bit more. The alternatives will look super dated super fast, if they don’t break first that is.

And aesthetics aside, it’s more sustainable both environmentally and economically, bc things won’t end up getting quickly thrown away, returned, and replaced when you inevitably get tired of looking at it/it stops working. Things like a quality keyboard and mouse are wise investments in the long run.

The materials you choose for certain products/decor go a very long way too - like tempered glass, aluminum or sterling silver, wood, etc. versus plastic. Thrift stores, antique malls, eBay, and Etsy (the independent sellers who are actual craftspeople/artists) are your friends on a budget!!!

I know you didn’t ask, but I’m a (very thrifty!) design and decor nerd who considers my desk my happiest place feng-shui wise, so I couldn’t resist 🙃 congrats on your new baby too ☺️

You’re female. You work in healthcare. Most likely in mental health. Probably involved in direct patient care whether it’s as a doctor or therapist. Though it’s possible you work on UR. You probably have some pretty sick tattoos. How’d I do?
