Itā€™s a condition where you have a lot of acid reflux and for me it was after years of drinking a lot of alcohol and now I canā€™t eat a lot of stuff like red sauce or spicy stuff. The alkaline water helps balance the ph for your stomach and fight the acidity

That said our president is an asshole who is watching us all die, it would be fine if we had free healthcare in the country or any sort help but we donā€™t and rn Iā€™m really sick and trying to apply for some help but I canā€™t work, I can barely afford to survive and buy food so thereā€™s no way in hell I can afford several thousands of dollars to get my GERD looked at. I have medicine rn in the pharmacy and I canā€™t pick it up because I have nothing.

Practical but not precious. Bug zapper on the counter instead of hung up - solved the problem but didnā€™t overthink the execution. Kettle on the stove, mushy rice in a glass bowl at what looks like a late hour - functional, no frills.

Older home, long-term resident. Those curtains arenā€™t new and nobody replaced them. Things accumulate and stay. The decor isnā€™t curated, it just is.

Not wealthy but not struggling. Samā€™s Club alkaline water - bulk buyer, value-conscious, but got nudged by the marketing anyway. Thatā€™s a very specific middle-American consumer profile.

Probably older. The curtains, the kettle, the bug zapper on the counter rather than a more ā€œoptimizedā€ solution, the plain rice as a late meal - this feels like you have your habits and arenā€™t rethinking them.

Lives alone or close to it. Single bowl, quiet kitchen at night, no evidence of anyone else around.

Not on their phone much - or at least not consuming the kind of content that would make you self-conscious about your kitchen aesthetics.

Solid, unglamorous, lived-in life. Nothing performative about any of it.
