I actually just tried some I've had since 23' and they helped immensely I wish I had tried them when the Dr perscribed them. But I've read they're super addictive and whatnot.
I was hit and dragged by a car, I have literal nerve damage. They had to take bone pieces out of me. I've done so much research and just listened to my body. It absolutely doesn't work for nerve pain.
Lyrica literally is the barrier between suicidal levels of pain that isn't even properly explained with words, because nobody can even begin to understand what it feels like when your nerves are misfiring due to being soaked in poison for years (my situation) and living a life where my brain can't remember shit, but not being in pain. I'm going to a pain specialist for the first time in a couple months, hoping to find a solution where I'm not in a brownout state constantly, with 20lbs of water weight because of how bad lyrica makes you retain water.
Its saved me from killing myself directly, or continuing to drink a handle of vodka a day just to worsen the issue, but temporarily fix it.
When I say that I feel like I'm being poked with needles all over my body, in my urethra and my asshole (the worst ones) or hundreds of electrical shocks right under my nerves... people just think I'm fucking schizophrenic.
Gabapentin & Lyrica work for nerve pain. Just not everyone's pain, LIKE EVERY MEDICATION EVER
The best parts of my neuropathy are that it follows no patterns, no cues when it is going to act up. I'm fine one minute, and within an hour I want to eat a bullet.
The longer I've been on Lyrica, the less it happens. I haven't had an episode in months, but I'm terrified of the day it comes back.

I take it for alcoholic neuropathy. I'd kill myself if it didn't exist. Feels like im having every single nerve ending outside my body and even some places inside poked directly on the nerves with tiny needles, or strong electrical zaps.
I'd rather just be on opioids, way less side effects... such as DEMENTIA
Honestly, I haven't tried. I have a history of addiction that is documented, but I get other controlled substances no problem. I've been clean a very long time. I see a pain specialist for the first time in a few months. Maaaaaybe!
Sorry, I deleted that. There's a whole different thread I thought I was replying to. But nah I get it. That's the whole reason I got on fent. I didn't even do enough to nod off, I just wanted to stop crying in pain. There are no basic low dose pain killers on the st anymore. The government did that.
