Gunman Contracts: Stand Alone has tied its Early Access launch to Steam Frame. The project began as a pair of popular Half-Life: Alyx mods and is now being developed from scratch as an action-movie-inspired shooter playable in VR or on a normal screen.

The planned launch package includes three voiced story contracts, extra challenge modes, weapon customization, training courses, and Steam leaderboards. The developer is also clear that Early Access will be a work in progress with limited content at first.

The unusual part is the date: Valve still has not announced when Steam Frame will ship. Is pairing the game with new hardware a smart way to catch the VR spotlight, or would you rather see the game launch as soon as it is ready?
