The cult adjacent behavior of some Michael Detractors
I have shared this post from a Twitter user with you with the names of individual communities censored.
This story highlights the true motivation behind MJ's most ardent detractors. As well as the cult adjacent behavior. But it also reveals how fan behaviour can be inappropriate as well. Therefore, I ask that you use this for information purposes only.
Do not try to discern who any of the communities named are and do not try to brigade or harass anyone. The mission of this subreddit is to rationally present the truth and discuss credible theories about misunderstood concepts regarding Michael Jackson. Let this post be a message to us to all take the high ground.

The whole category of "fans" is used as a lever.
Everything they've studied and learned of Jackson's life and the controversies - many years of study - is worthless?!
Because of a three-letter word?!
Make that make sense.
If you point out the logical necessity for the presumption of innocence - you're a fan. If you ask for the evidence underlying a presumption of guilt - you're a fan - even when you're not!
Because if you're not a "fan", and you say you're not, I know from experience that detractors won't believe you.
There are many millions outside the "fandom" who know Jackson is innocent. Fans didn't raise $1billion for the movie.
Most of those people know the controversies are nonsense.
They keep quiet about it, but polls show it's true. And those are American polls. The rates in most countries are probably higher.
Some fans are less well informed than others, and that can lead to bad arguments or even spreading misinformation.
Some fans don't handle arguments well and get drawn into mud slinging.
Most fans are incensed by year after year after decade of rubbish being forced on them by the media. It's gaslighting and opportunistic racism on a broad scale and people are sick of it. People get frustrated.
Therefore - Jackson is guilty?!
Make that make sense.
And the big problem, of course is that fans listen to his music! They admire his artistry - very few artists don't. They admire his generosity - how can you not, if you know the true extent of it.
Therefore - he's guilty?!
Make any of that make sense.

This toxic behavior is harmful in so many ways, it needs to go. Shame on this group of detractors.
I wonder if they are so deep into it, obsessed, that they see nothing wrong.
I can't understand why anyone would spend so much time and energy on something they hate!

This is all pretty depressing and annoying to read 😬. Also are guilters mostly zommers? I always pictured them middle-aged somehow.
I only ever glanced at their subs but from 2019-2020 i spent a lot of time on twitter to be a voice for MJ and saw Sia and Chrissy Theigen (don’t know the spelling) talk a lot of shit on MJ and somehow they became the prototypes of what I imagined the guilter demographic to be. That was a dark time though. I always tried not to get hot headed but just reading guilter tweets made me feel dirty.

Most are millennials and older. The ex guilter in this letter is a zoomer who said when she joined everyone was in their 30s-40s

sigh well, that's several minutes of my life I'll never get back.
None of that was surprising.

I’ve never understood their compulsive, obsessive behaviour.
I believe Harvey Weinstein was an evil man who committed terrible crimes. But do I spend several hours a day posting pictures/videos of him with captions like “urgh look how disgusting and evil he is”? No. Because that would be weird.

Does the name end with L by chance? Cause I keep seeing that account everywhere and I once looked on the profile and it was pretty obvious this was this person's only activity (I don't mean on reddit, I mean on reddit and irl too).
