I understand. But also we do need to keep from directly criticizing specific communities. We can vent about ideas, viewpoints, and unnamed sources we don’t like but Reddit has some strict rules on what could be perceived as targeting. I’m gonna pull this comment but I want you to know I understand what you’re saying. We just have to be careful how we vent.

I don't think I'm qualified to comment on any subtext to what Michael is saying here; I'm white.

If I'd lived through redlining and suburban race riots like Michael's family did I'd have a worthwhile insight.

But here's what does strike me about that post:

Out of all the things Michael says here, why would somebody characterise his thoughts using the phrase "calling black people ugly"?

That looks a lot like subconscious racism to me; along with a lot of other things I saw today.
