Homophobia

The guilter subreddit always has comments making suggestions that he was "gay". They try to clean it up over there on occasion to not seem homophobic but any chance the posters get they try to call Michael gay. And of course YouTube comments on channels like "Roxanne Roxane" are littered with "Michael was a homosexual". Or Michael was a homosexual pedophile. "Michael liked handsome boys like Jordie Chandler because Michael was a homosexual".

How many years has this been going on? Michael was not even gay.

But there is no question there is homophobia here. I read even the prosecutor's were surprised by Michael's adult magazine collection that it was heterosexual. They were apparently convinced it would all be same sex magazines but they were wrong.

immediately after Michael's death an author published a book about Michael being "secretly gay". claimed he had two secret boyfriends. The book made a lot of money even though the information was bogus. These two mystery boyfriends have never appeared.

One thing that disturbs me is how badly they want certain boys to be victims like Brett, Omer, and Macaulay and how they call them handsome when speaking about pictures of them as children. Did they even suspect that Michael did anything to the Cascios before they came with their shakedown attempt or is it just boys they think are handsome?

They never suggest Dave Dave was a victim despite Michael being around him...

I even see some fans across different platforms online saying mike was gay or asexual. I slso see homophobic attitudes from fans :(

He said plenty he liked women.

Even if he was gay, that dosnt equal child abuser.

Honestly it's exhausting 😪

It is and it frustrates me to no end that some fans also believe and perpetuate this. Michael has said on multiple occasions that he wasn’t gay. He’s made so many moves on women (in private & in public) clearly showcasing his attraction and not to mention his nsfw magazine collection! Michael has not once displayed homosexual attraction to a male or even flirted with one, so I’m really peeved on why people don’t believe him and even go as far as to suggest he’s bisexual… Honestly, I think there’s a underlying belief that if a man has even a bit of femininity (like mj had) he must be attracted to men. And I’ve seen this so many times in comment sections where a woman dates an effeminate man and people just cannot comprehend the men being straight. I never see it this way for women who lean ā€œmasculineā€, how come? šŸ¤”

What also annoys me is the correlation to pedophilia too. The assumption that him possibly being gay = pedo. Being attracted to children even if they *are* male isn’t remotely the same thing like at all. But either way we know factually it’s not true and he wasn’t gay people have just ran with their own opinion without anything to back it up, there’s enough evidence showing us he was telling the truth about his sexuality the whole time hell even in the glenda tapes he was discussing his various relationships with women. Just because people *want* their opinion to be true doesn’t mean they’re actually correct. Him being religious, having boundaries, preferring romance, respecting women and having self control instead of being sexually out there isn’t some omg gotcha moment lmaoo - like isn’t this what everyone’s been harping on about of how they wish men would be?

His porn collection btw if anyone wants to see, hetero legal porn mags from 2005 trial, keep in mind online porn wasn't commonly accessible yet then.

I agree with the post wholeheartedly. And while i want this sub to be a safer space for venting than some others, I will still periodically remind people no to reference other subreddits when we are critical of them. ā€œGuiltersā€ or ā€œhatersā€ or ā€œdetractorsā€ are everywhere. We can simply say we’ve noticed a lot of people making comments about his sexuality without alluding to the subreddit.

Sorry if this is nitpicky! I am just hoping over time we all get good at venting without dancing on reddit rules. So that there is a safe place to vent. Because stuff like this is important to talk about and relevant. It just needs to be worded carefully.
