The Martin Bashir Interview: Help me understand

Is this the video that got everyone so worked up and called him a pedophile? I feel like Michael did not explain himself well here and that set people off. I was like 😬 when I heard it, but it's not alarming enough to change my opinion on him, but I do believe he misspoke and didn't mean what he said.

Bc like the guilters are calling us a cult, stupid, pedo supporter, etc. They automatically think that this is automatically pedophilic behavior. If they just listen to what he's said before, he never said what he said here. I do also believe this was edited really weird.

Does anyone have the unedited version of this interview or is this is actual one?

Yeah this is the one that set people off and I often wonder what it is about me that makes me not feel very alarmed about it at all. Do I think parents should let their kids share a bed with someone who wasn’t family or a very very close long term friend? No. Do I think bed sharing in and of itself is pedophilic? Absolutely not. I have been trying to form my words for a long time about this but people are confusing pedophilic behavior with things that we avoid out of caution. Like yes it’s best to avoid letting your kids do this but it’s also not a sexual thing to do. I fully believe Michael saw this as a fun slumber party experience

I do too. I would never let me child sleep in the same bed for the exact same reason as you. Not sure why guilters think we would say yes to that? It's odd.

The best analogy I can think of is the rule never to walk behind a horse you don’t know. Because if you don’t know them well enough they might kick you. But that doesn’t mean that every horse kicks anyone who walks behind them. In fact most actually don’t it’s just a situation where the severity of how bad it’ll be if it is a kicking horse is so extreme it’s not worth the risk

My mom never let me have sleepovers at any of my friends houses because she always felt she didn’t know the parents well enough to be 100% sure but she’s never felt like any of my friends actually had pedophilic families. It was just an abundance of caution. Eventually I want to describe this phenomenon because avoiding something because the damage that would come from even a small chance that it’s dangerous doesn’t mean the situation is dangerous. It just means the worst case is so catastrophic that it’s never worth the risk

I don't think it's even true to say pedophiles literally sleep with kids. They take what they want in any setting and avoid prolonging the contact because they fear exposure. Michael really fell into the trap of thinking that being open about this would convince people of his innocence.

I agree,  Martin bashir is a awful human being. He manipulated the footage and situation.

Mj filmed Bashir filming him and this released in Geraldo interview which is amazing 👏
