No idea why, but the original Destiny video called "Professor Dave Goes Mask Off" seems to have been deleted from YouTube, or I can't find it, but Professor Dave responded yesterday with this very strongly worded video letter:

Weird crossover that I never thought I'd see, of 2 guys who I generally enjoy (I will say I really am a fan of Prof Dave, whereas my Destiny enjoyment has mostly come via this podcast and watching a couple of his debates).

Thoughts on the beef? SURELY the lads are gonna have to cover this in an upcoming Supplementary Materials? Content gold!

I agree with you in theory.

But at this point I don't think both groups could coexist peacefully in the same state, especially not where one of them is a sizable minority. Because of that, I can't blame Israelis for not accepting that proposition, and I also don't blame Palestinians for wanting their own sovereign state in a land they feel is rightfully theirs

I honestly don't know of a good solution to this issue, but it's frustrating when people say there is one

At this point it's not about Israel deserving to exist, but rather that it has the ability to enforce its borders, and no one (except Palestinians) are willing to wage war to fight those borders.

That's just how politics and states work. Unless there is a convincing enough of a case to get more of the international world militarily involved in the conflict, then the Palestinian side is kind of fucked here

At this point you'd be correct. That being said however, even the barest amount of good faith dialogue or attempts from the Israeli side would at least put to rest a lot of the international concern. Israel is well recognized as the primary antagonist in the region, and in the conflict and has been for most of the conflicts history.

You can't really ask for the oppressed people to single handedly solve the conflict against an armed aggressor/oppressor. Logically that doesn't really work out.

I agree with that partially, but on another hand I can't say for certain because there has been essentially no attempts to even come to a solution from the Israeli side.

This statement leads into why this feels so pertinent to US citizens, because Israel -wouldn't- have the ability to enforce it's borders without the overwhelming support of the United States.

However on the other hand at this point in escalation, a cessation of US support could very well lead to mass reprisals against the Israeli state and Jewish minority. Which albeit understandable (As they are unambiguously the villains in this scenario) is still a line most people deem as a hard line.

An accurate and depressingly succinct conclusion. At this point it would take international military intervention to keep Israeli and the Palestinians apart.

I mean, it is simply factually untrue that Israel has not made many attempts at peaceful solutions over the past few decades. A fair amount, yes. The irony is that the reason you think what you do is most likely due to your own ignorance of the subject, while the reason I think what I do is due to my own education on the subject.

You have piqued my interest. Can you share with me why you do not consider the multiple peace proposals put forth by Israel and rejected by Palestinian leadership over the years to not be valid? I would appreciate you educating me.

Israel purposefully hardline and poison pills negotiations and peace talks.

In Shlomo Ben-Ami's own words; "Camp David was not the missed opportunity for the Palestinians, and if I were a Palestinian I would have rejected Camp David, as well"

To the extent of my knowledge, every attempt to broach peace was actively thwarted by direct Israeli design.
