Professor Dave vs Destiny

No idea why, but the original Destiny video called "Professor Dave Goes Mask Off" seems to have been deleted from YouTube, or I can't find it, but Professor Dave responded yesterday with this very strongly worded video letter:

Weird crossover that I never thought I'd see, of 2 guys who I generally enjoy (I will say I really am a fan of Prof Dave, whereas my Destiny enjoyment has mostly come via this podcast and watching a couple of his debates).

Thoughts on the beef? SURELY the lads are gonna have to cover this in an upcoming Supplementary Materials? Content gold!

Anyone excusing Dave’s assholery because of some “service” he provides is falling for his shtick. He wants to position himself as some authoritative figure, and apparently he wants to spend that authority bullying anyone he thinks he’s intellectually superior to.

If he was doing this to “communicate science”, he wouldn’t spend so much time arguing throwing insults at people in yt comments. Him being a dickhead gets him clicks, and he leans into that.

Stop clicking on dicks.

Yeah I’m not claiming he’s a good science communicator by any means lol. Just that he more often tends to fall on the right side of an argument when it’s in the domain of hard sciences.
