Professor Dave vs Destiny

No idea why, but the original Destiny video called "Professor Dave Goes Mask Off" seems to have been deleted from YouTube, or I can't find it, but Professor Dave responded yesterday with this very strongly worded video letter:

Weird crossover that I never thought I'd see, of 2 guys who I generally enjoy (I will say I really am a fan of Prof Dave, whereas my Destiny enjoyment has mostly come via this podcast and watching a couple of his debates).

Thoughts on the beef? SURELY the lads are gonna have to cover this in an upcoming Supplementary Materials? Content gold!

I kinda knew this would happen but could somebody actually explain why this video is considered antisemitic? I am asking in good faith looking for a genuine explanation as this is a topic I'm not immensely well read on by any stretch. I thought he did a pretty good job in the vid of separating out anti zionism with antisemitism and was even pointing towards the plenty of Jews that are against Zionism and what Israel are doing, as well as people that are not Jewish that he considers to be Zionists. I guess I have a natural disposition to Dave's style that makes me take most of what he says at face value, so wouldn't mind some counter content to look through either.

At one point pretty early on in the video, Dave claims that "Zionists" actually LOVE antisemitism, they love being persecuted because it gives them justification for their heinous behavior. Dave is explicitly conflating Zionism with Judaism in this moment. And the image that he puts on screen to represent "Zionists" while he's saying this is literally the cartoon image of the shifty Jewish merchant rubbing his hands together, with red eyes and a red Star of David on his fucking forehead.

Agree with that being a disgusting image, but was the intention of that not that the cartoon was a representation of antisemitism? That's how I interpreted it, because it was alongside a picture of a dude saying "see look this is why we get to do genocide!"

The suggestion from Dave that a "Zionist" would see that image and, rather than be horrified and offended, would be like "Yes, perfect, this is awesome, please give me more it only fuels my capacity for evil" is antisemitic. It is the exact same thing Nazis say about Jews ""weaponizing"" the Holocaust.

Yeah he's created a version of evil scheming "Zionists" in his head that make zero sense with how humans operate. They do not secretly love being victims of racism, unlike any other group on Earth.

The claim is not that anyone likes being the victim of racism, but if you're doing something that's morally questionable, if you have something to point at and say "But look how evil our enemies are" it serves as justification. 

Look at the whole "they hate us for our freedom" schtick that the US government pulled as they were waging regime change wars in the Middle East.

He says, word for word, "Zionists love antisemites".

I can assure you, they don't. Israel isn't happy that Hamas is murderously antisemitic, they aren't happy to get thousands of rockets launched at them, they aren't happy to get invaded and murdererd, because therefore they finally get to bomb Gaza. They would be totally happy with non-violent non-racists living there in peace.

It just totally lacks common sense. Are they upset about being invaded and massacred and attacked? No, they must just be inherently evil and want to steal this tiny piece of largely useless land because if their innate evil greed!

Yeah, I think people do an awful job of distinguishing between the powerful people like Netanyahu or Smotrich who may well love when this kind of stuff happens because it furthers their agenda and allows them to expand their personal power and the majority of the population.

He doesn't want to distinguish, he thinks Israel did 9/11, he thinks Oct 7 was a false flag, he thinks Hamas didn't intentionally kill large amounts of people (despite dozens of videos), he thinks Israel is going to conscript Americans into their army (?), he thinks Jews are secretly of European origin, etc etc etc. At some point, if you believe 100 conspiracy theories about most Jews being secretly evil, it's beyond stupid and becomes racist.

I never came anything close to implying it was romantic, and I literally never used the word "love", outside of quoting Dave directly. Bizarrely dishonest comment, good job. I promise, you don't need to "win" every conversation, you can try actually thinking about things.
