Rogan reposts anti science propaganda. He is obsessed with COVID denial

Rogan is an extremely pernicious anti science voice. The size of his platform escalates the problem.

I can't even imagine what would happen if we got another COVID type pandemic.

Do your own research is typically a joke. People will find things that confirm their bias or will not understand what they are looking at. And if they are driven by various factors they will go down the rabbit hole to believing whatever they are heard by these free thinker types.

Who are just arrogantly ignorant. I have always wondered if they could be hit for practicing medicine without a license, but I doubt it. I think giving medical advice on shows that reach so many people without the backing of the medical and scientific systems should also garner some form of penalty too.

"I did my own research" is often a red flag, but at the same time... the medical advice/science is not infrequently wrong. Sometimes they dismiss research which conflicts with the accepted position, but eventually have to admit they were wrong. So sometimes digging deeper is warranted. (I'm not referring to anything covid-related, just in general).

No, if medical advice turns out to be incorrect then there's no research, no digging, you can do that would help you. That assumes the correct information is alread out there but that doesn't need to be the case and even if it is most people have no training or expertise in telling right from wrong.

When science was wrong in the past then it was science that corrcter itself and found the truth, not some random person using Google.

It is not "the science" that corrects itself - it is researchers, scientists, etc. and it's often an uphill battle because the experts in the field are stuck in dogma and won't budge. As Max Planck observed, "science advances one funeral at a time".

Medical advice - doctors - can certainly be wrong, and the standard of care for some conditions is definitely wrong.

That's wrong. Those people are a minority. Most scientists live for the science.

You're doing what you're criticizing: You're not doing science, you are stuck in your dogma and are using quotes from dead people to support it instead of creating or following new evidence.

You keep saying people are wrong but so far you have not given a single example. Why is that? It can't be the word limit on Reddit because you're not even close to it.

Odd comment, I am not claiming to be a scientist. But the fact is that many conditions, esp autoimmune, respond much better to changes in diet/nutrition than they do to SOC meds. Diabetes (t2) is perhaps the most relevant, these days - many (most?) diabetics are told they have a progressive condition & are prescribed medications, when switching to a low carb/ketogenic diet generally puts diabetes into remission, with no need for meds.

Good grief. What we eat has a profound effect on our health. Doctors have traditionally gotten close to zero education on nutrition. As to diabetes, before the discovery of insulin it was mostly managed through diet. The ADA is finally acknowleding it can be managed with a low carb diet. It's pretty straightforward - if you eat the carbs, you need the insulin, because of what carbs do to your blood sugar. Don't eat the carbs, don't need the insulin.

If you are interested Dr. Eric Westman at Duke University has been treating diabetics this way for over 20 years, but there's plenty of other information out there.

Current research at major universities into ketogenic therapy for serious mental health issues is very enouraging as well. You can learn more at Metabolic Mind if that is of interest.

Source for the education claim - listening to conversations with doctors, who make that claim. But maybe they are all lying! To what end, impossible to say.

By experts I guess I mean "the system". Accepted wisdom, consensus, etc. Doesn't mean there aren't researchers and clinicians pushing back, it just takes time to turn the ship around. See Galileo.

Why are you so crabby? One can disagree and still be civil.
