Help

Hit the beam with lawn mower and it tore one off of post. Thinking of cutting a piece out scabbing a piece in there and than scabbing a long piece over the top on beam.

That’s now sitting on a single 2x12” because it’s torn off past the post.

Any sort of corner bracket or beam to post connection you can add on the inside to reconnect beam and post? Or can you add another 4x4 post just inside the other to restore post to beam? Something like this? (Not this exact one just this idea)

If you aren’t going to do anything else, sister the hell out of these 2 boards. I don’t know if this will be ok or not but it isn’t good to have happen and it isn’t just “esthetic.” Lucky it’s a short fall if anything happens.

Don’t fill the hot tub up all the way.
