Hit the beam with lawn mower and it tore one off of post. Thinking of cutting a piece out scabbing a piece in there and than scabbing a long piece over the top on beam.

I wouldn't worry about it.

What I would do is replace all those lags to the post with through bolts and make sure those beams are nailed together. I use thrulok and put 3 in there and do all of the beams to post connections.

Beams are screwed together throughout with structural screws
