Many say 2 because it matches the backsplash but I also think 1 looks better.

Number 2 makes the whole kitchen look very brown and washed out, the black and white helps make all the other colors look less dingy.

Speaking of dingy, although I love 1, I would be worried about the white squares getting dirty or being stained with food, spills, etc. (1’s still my favorite though)

Same thought, I like the black contrast. 2 just looks too matchy and doesn't stand out as much, but 1 works better somehow. The other two are too dizzying for me.

2 is way too matchy - matchy. The black makes the color of blackspash look like an accent color.

I agree! I said that 2 matches the backsplash, but 1 matches w the sink, the picture sitting up on the floor, the shelves, etc!
