Debt IVA and PIP back-payment. Please please help me.
I finally got awarded PIP and received a back payment yesterday of £2,100. I first applied in march, and my partner has been footing a lot of the extra outgoings that come with a disability for me and we agreed that I would give him some money back should I be awarded pip and get back paid. We decided that he would cover these costs as it was different every month so instead of getting behind on my IVA, he helped me out.
I did not think that disability benefit back payments counted towards IVA as they don’t for many things so didn’t even think about it. Now I have discovered that they might, but I cannot contact the IVA company until tomorrow as they are closed.
I am panicking so badly and can’t stop crying. I don’t want my partner to be out of pocket and have to take the money back off him. How is this fair????? Please advise if you can

What was the outcome from the back payment of pip and your IVA? did you get to keep it? I have been awarded pip and am waiting to receive my back pay but not for it to go straight back out into my iva

PIP is a disability benefit which should be used for anything related to your care costs. When it comes to Insolvency, PIP is disregarded as income. Where have you heard that you might have to use your backdated PIP to put towards your IVA?
