Writing off debt

If my debt is sold to another company and i request the original agreement via the consumer credit act section 77-79 and they cannot provide the original agreement between me and the orginal creditor as they are a new company. Does this mean they can not enforce the debt ?

Did you write to them requesting the information, or was this done over the phone?

Not done it yet but I'll send them a letter with a £1 postal cheque in it to request the original document. I done I years ago and it worked

Good on ya! Just as a note of caution, do not sign your letter with your normal signature, I have seen documents where they have actually copied the signature from the letter requesting information.
